Hmmmmmmm. This is a tournament, ofcourse you have to win, in order to get to the end, Viper. I'm just curious as to how we came up with the match-ups. It was a question out of curiosity, if I wanted a trivial answer, I would have just kept the question to myself. I'm sure there are teams wondering "how they heck did I get this team in the first round?"

I was looking for this answer........
A. Teams were seeded based on history and record (as most '96 and above teams haven't played yet this year).
B. It was a blind draw, sorry about your luck.

Is the OFC going to be the method of communication for this tourney? If I would not of have checked this thread yesterday I would have been unaware of these recent changes to the format.

Doug,

Are the Action fields and Kett fields at the same place? We play at Action 8 at 8am Sat, then play our first bracket at Kett 10 at 10am. Just want to make sure we have time to get from place to place.

Thanks,

Tod

I agree...No communication directly to the coaches. 2 days out and still havent received any kind of coaches packet that every other tournament sends out.

Nope. Different parks. They are not very far from each other a couple of miles at most. However it does take time to load up your equipment, walk it to your car, drive over and then unload and walk to the fields. If you go the full 1:40 in your 8am game, you won't make your 10am in time. I would suggest telling the other team that you are only playing an 1:15 the first game and give yourself plenty of time for the game that actually matters.

We play the Central Ohio Vipers at 8am. I would imagine that we'll only play an hour or so because they have a 10am game at Kettering fields. I wouldn't be surprised if some teams just scratch that meaningless 8am pool game if they have to pack up and move for a 10am bracket game.

I wouldn't mind even doing some situational stuff in that first game if they were up for it. Like working on ITB execution or bases loaded with no outs, etc. It's basically a scrimmage anyway.

We put the teams in and assigned them random numbers which were drawn. We had to put a couple back as they drew the pairing from the one pp game and we did not want a repeat of the pp game .. Starting at the top game #1 and working down.

What we were waiting on is to hear back from a couple teams - Lakota HS is still in the state playoffs - affecting 14u teams, Coach JP of the Scarlet did not find out until last night if 4 of his girls would be released from SB (league makeup games) and the Classics 16u had player availability concerns... did not want to make all these assignments and then have 2-3 teams pull out... that is why the 14/16u were not posted until later last night...

8am game is a pp right? that is limited to 1:20 ... we walked the bracket over and over to try and avoid that Tod .. my apologies.

In the end, the tournament will be great fun for A MAJORITY of the teams that attend...I know you guys are working hard and have a lot of variables to put on a tournament of this size...Better you than me my man ;&

See you bright and early on Saturday....can't think of a better way to open the tournament.

Doug,

No problem on our end. Just wanted to make sure we weren't going to be late to our bracket game. We'll adjust. We just wanna play some softball. Can't wait to meet up with the Central Ohio Ice to get warmed up before we play the bracket. Weather looks great, and we'll travel wherever we need to.

Your PM box is full, so I'll leave you to it!

Thanks Doug, good luck to your Hawks team. I'm looking forward to watching some good games this weekend.

We caught an error in pool play and brackets involving Doom 95 MV XPress Lowery. To avoid that conflict, we will switch Doom 95 and Hawks 94 Benjamin.

Updates will be posted shortly.

Got it fixed... we swapped the pool play game between Doom 95 and Hawks 94 Benjamin ... Doom 95 is now at 6:30pm vs OFC Blast 95... refresh your browser for updated pp list on page 1.

Tod,
Whatever you want to do in the 1st game is fine with me. We don't have to travel for our first bracket game so we can be flexible.

Sean
