Doug,

I sent you an email and copied Coach Herman as well.

Can someone from the Hawks give me a call?

Thanks,

2011 Metro Dayton - USA/ASA National Qualifier and Eastern National Qualifier Berths

Also, all head coaches must present ACE certification upon registration. We will have tyvek wristbands for gate. A Gold band is $8 for an all tourney/weekend pass. A daily pass/band will be offered for $5 (over 16). Teams will get 3 coaches bands in their team packet for the weekend.

From the tourney rules that were just posted

"Two (2) coaches from each teams will be provide with their wrist band in the team welcome packet. We reserve the right to request payment for any non-playing adult in the facility not wearing a wristband."

Which one is correct? I assume it should be 3 coaches per team.

Warm-up
[FONT=Calibri,Calibri][FONT=Calibri,Calibri]During the first inning, each team will be allowed three (5) warm-up pitches and one (1) throw-down by the catcher. Infield and outfield warm-up will be allowed during the first inning only. For all innings after the first, there will be one (3) warm-up pitch and one (1) throw-down by the catcher. No infield or outfield warm-ups are allowed after the first inning.

Which number of warm-up pitches is correct, the written number, or the numeral in parentheses?

Am I reading the brackets wrong? It appears some teams appear to be getting a "bye" the first round while others have to play into an opponent.

If so, doesn't that also mean some teams will be required to play more games?

How did you decide who played the play in game and who got the 2nd round game.

If you filled out each age group to what you considered "Full" then why isn't everyone playing in the 1st round?

We had a blind draw of the teams and their position - 'luck of the draw' .. we have to use the Official ASA Brackets that they post for the number of teams in each division...

Take a deep breath, Doug . . . :) And Run26, we would have been happy to have a first round bracket game. The more competition, especially at this first stage of summer competition, the better. For those teams who win their first round bracket game, the glass will definitely be half full.

LOL... thanks CGS ... the answer is simple .. the world is full of idiots .. funny I have talked to tons of coaches this weekend - the 'good' teams are ready to play ball - they don't care who they draw - they just want to get after it ... Heck Yathzee's team, Hawks Jacobs - has a 'tough...' draw .. he is ready to play .. looking forward to seeing how they stack up...

Doug,

Can you please send out the brackets to each coach in an email? You can not copy these off of OFC and it would be nice to have. Also field directions or address of the fields as some of us have never been to kettering fields.

Thanks
Coach B

You can copy them, it's just that they are .jpg images. Right click on the image, and use the "save picture as" option. You can then print them out, but obviously with some of the brackets, they would be better on larger size paper if your printer has that ability.

easy Doug. I wasn't blasting the process just wondering how it came about. I also wasn't complaining or even mentioned a draw - just had a couple of questions on how it was handled.

FYI, the only team I even know a kid personally is in the 12U bracket where there isn't a 1st round bye. My questions weren't meant as an attack.

sorry if you took it that way.

You can call me whatever you'd like I guess, but the link was meant as a joke. Sorry if it wasn't obvious.

The draws mean nothing to me personally, as I won't be there, and have no connection to any team that is playing in this event.

I got the joke Kashmir. I think that Doug is maybe a little bit punchy with all the hours he has spent in the past few days trying to get this tournament primed to go. My comments were directed at Run 26's first post, which appeared to challenge the fact that some teams got first round byes.

I'm thinking we all just need for Friday evening and Saturday morning to come so we can get the release of playing ball!
