Just curious what everyone is thinking for the 2012 NWO season. Here goes a very early prediction:

1) Notre Dame
2) Anthony Wayne
3) BG
4) Perrysburg
5) Central
6) Southview
7) Springfield
8) Clay
9) Archbold
10) Maumee
11) St Ursula
12) Lake

Anyway, should be a fun season with a lot of young talent in the area.

Off the top of my head;

Just going by my memory, here are the pitchers associated with each school along with any travel ball/college ball info I know about them. Anyone with additional information, please feel free to add it in.

NDA - Jenna Inman (Wizards) & Cassie Gillespie
Springfield - Bree Buck (Wizards)
Clay - Gallagher (Wizards?)
Central - Erin Seiler (Lasers Scarlet & Univ of Akron)
BG - Casey Ackenberger (Ohio Classics)
Southview - Allie Howard (SGS Magic)
Anthony Wayne- Lydia George (Wizards, I think)
Elmwood - ?
Napoleon - Kelsey Meyers (used to be Wizards but I think she changed organizations)
Northview - ?
Genoa - ?
Perrysburg - Felicia Eisenbrandt (Wizards)

Let the discussions begin:)

I guess your the only one left from the old crew BGSU lol, a few years back a thread like this would have already had 100's of posts, people would have made an alias so they could make any comment they wanted lol.

That's sad since you can see I only have limited information and insight...I don't really keep up with the younger ages.

I think it is hard to make conversation because there are so many questions out there this year. The pitching pool (thanks uber and BG) is relatively new and somewhat a question mark with many clubs.

Could be as wide open for the top ten this year as it has been for many years.

OK.... let me give a stab at it....

1. Springfield--last year Freshman of the year pitcher Bre Buck is only getting better and better. This year's freshmen class is really looking good with Hannah Girlie, Libbey Mathewson, Bri Espino and a few others. I expect a breakout year for Emily Rockman.
2. Tough one here between BG and Perrysburg. Since Perrysburg's girls basketball team just beat BGHS, I will go with Perrysburg. I really like Ackenberger on the rubber or at bat. Eisenbrandt will prove something this year with her pitching, bat and awesome attitude.
3. Bowling Green
4. Central.... Erin will be even tougher.
5. Anthony Wayne... tough pick AW #5.. wouldn't surprise me if they end up #1.
6. .... now I need to rest my brain to be able to sort the next 5 out.... No wonder there are not many posts... this is really tough this year!!!!!

I think the real dark horse may be Elmwood this year. Central doesnt make my list yet, yes Siler is a good pitcher, but will they have anything behind her? Otsego may make some noise with their Freshman pitcher coming in. We always forget about Archbold, and the senior class they have should be ready to break out. Whitmer will be solid, will their pitching hold up? They have a nice Sophmore class that will make an impact, and fill some holes. That is good enough to get them in my lower half. Springfield will be good, Gwodz is living the dream with his incoming freshman, and next year he has more talent coming in.

1. Springfield
2. Perrysburg
3. Clay
4. Elmwood
5. AW
6. Notre Dame
7. Whitmer
8. Southview
9. Archbold
10. Otsego

Springfield is loaded all through the ages. Virtually all the top travel teams from 10u-14u has a Springfield kid or 2 on it, and apparently they are cornering the market on pitchers. Coach Gwodz must be doing something right to get a community Springfields size this excited about softball.

Ok...here goes.

1) TCC (my props to E.S.)
2) Perrysburg
3) Springfield
4) AW
5) SSV
6) Elmwood
7) Archbold
8) NDA
9) Napoleon
10) Bowling Green

It's always exciting to see who emerges as a star. There are some terrific freshman coming onto the scene this season. I predict:
A) it's the a good year for underclassmen,
B) power trumps speed,
C) defense wins championships,
D) I'm going to be mostly wrong again!

I am soooooo ready for Spring 2012!

Looks to me like Springfields biggest problem is going to be to keep everyone happy, especially pitchers, there's only so many innings:)

Napoleon could be a dark horse in fact I would say thy are too good for that label.

They are strong in the circle, they for sure will be a handful.

Interesting picks and I like that you include your reasons. A little surprised you did not go with BG over Springfield. It seems to me Ackenberger is the top returning pitcher in the NLL. She did pitcher her team past Perrysburg and Anthony Wayne on her way to a district championship. Bre Buck is good, but I'm not sure where you get Freshman pitcher of the year, other than that I think her and the girl from Maumee were the only two freshmen pitching in the NLL last year, then I would give her the nod.

I'm not sure that Seiler has ever been the same since her arm injury...

Anthony Wayne will be interesting...when was the last time they were picked behind 3 other NLL teams?

Perrysburg has much to prove now that Rich and Bryson are no longer on the mound.

Notice I did not give my own picks :) just giving some observations about others - I know, very bold of me!
