OK Royalzone, I have to ask...what makes Southview move up to the #2 slot? O'Reilly is gone, and that means a huge hole in the hitting line up as well as on the mound. Estrich who pitched several games over the last couple seasons is also gone. Knepper will provide a nice bat and keep things calm behind the plate and Ali Howard pitched some last year but she is somewhat unproven in the NLL. So does Southview have a "secret weapon?"

I am just asking, as I am not "better educated" than the last time I was on here :)

Thinking about this season I really am not sure who my top 10 would be...other than Central at number 1 as they return the top pitcher in the area in my opinion.

Royalzone, how in the world is NDA not in your top 10? Lol. They lost a solid player, had a good year last year and were very young. They are good are a IMO a clear top 4 team. They were probably the youngest team in the top 10 last year. Gillispie as a soph has a Haley Weimer level bat. I think she hit like 4 hrs in her first 5 varsity games (including scrimmages as a frosh) I'd be tempted to list them #1 or #2 with TCC. Just curious how we are this far apart?

My preseason top 5:

1)BG
2)NDA
3)SSV
4)Springfield
5)AW

BG will be tough with senior pitcher & catcher.
TCC doesn't make my cut with 1 top player.
NDA & Springfield youth will be tough but may need another year.
SSV & AW solid programs with strong coaching.

Let's hope the weather is not repeat from last year.

I might agree except that the one top player happens to be maybe the top pitcher in the area. They can find a way to score a run or two.

Sorry to stir the pot and run...good question Uber. Although NDA has great talent, I feel that coaches are going to be better prepared to deal with and work around some of the successes that NDA saw last year. Can the veterans prove me wrong? I guess some will see this as calling them out...and I guess that's what I'm doing.

In my ealier post I referred to youth. I looked at the depth of returners and lists of new underclassman that will have an impact this season. Granted this is my opinion...I am anxiously awaiting the varsity rosters to start coming out. I am convinced we will all be impressed with some of new "stars" this year. I am putting myself out on a limb here, but as the season gets going, I feel I am going to be close.

I will not be surprised to see them or hesitate to put NDA back on my list....as you know, I'm always watching.

SSV has two bats to replace O-O's. (Not on the mound, but at the plate.) I appreciate your questioning my sanity....I do it every day. Lol.

JMO...Not sure why everyone has Napoleon so low, they have a very solid team. Not sure what they have as far as pitching this year, but they can hit.

I assume Kelsey Meyer is napoleons pitcher, very good pitcher with serious pop in her bat

I heard throught the grapevine that at an informal NLL coaches' meeting that several of the coaches predicted Napoleon to be one of the favorites to win the NLL this year.

I'm with UJ in trying to decide who to move down to move Napoleon up... share any info you may have as I am unable to find much to go on.

I was going to say that I think Napoleon will probably win the NLL. If I remember correctly they are loaded with seniors and have had good records the last two years.

Can't wait for the season to begin, no dominating teams its going to be the team that works the hardest to the end of the 7th inning and the end of the season. Several teams have the potential to be the May surprise!

I think that Archbold has many questions to answer after last years graduation especially on the mound. Almost zero experience. Probably not a top ten team at least at the start of the year.

Just remember, we are talking about the NLL....Napoleon's record over the last two years doesn't mean much. However, they should compete near the top of the league but it will be a tough battle. I think the team(s) who wins the league could very possibly have 2-3 league losses.

OK with just a few short days till the season begins, I thought I would now reveal my NW0 top 10 for 2012. Having watched the conversations over the last two seasons but having next to no time watching Varsity action (my DD played JV as a Freshmen), I have resorted to the most scientific analysis and data review to come up with my list. Thats right...you guessed it, I picked the names out of a hat. Here goes.

1) Archbold
2) SSV
3) BG
4) Perrysburg
5) Clay
6) Anthony Wayne
7) Springfield
8) CCHS
9) Whitmer
10) Notre Dame

Here is to good weather...And Great Softball!

In my mind there are 4 top teams this, the other 6 of a top 10 could be made out of about 12 teams.
NDA -Is the team to beat IMO
CCHS- They are right with NDA
Springfield-I think they might be a year away from something big
Napoleon- I don't know a whole lot about them, but my sources tell me they are very good. I have seen their pitcher in action a lot, she's very good and has tremendous power at the plate.

So Arcbold goes down to Otsego
Notre Dame over Napoleon
Central handles Northview
Perrysburg tops Elmwood

How does this affect the NWO top 10? Interesting early results I would say
