#4 and #5 are interesting. Both are based on statistical probability. However, in this case, I agree with all but #4.
Let's say we're late in the game, score tied with runners on 1st & 2nd (regardless if they were walks or valid hits). #4 batter is up. In this scenario, I trust that batter to "do her thing". She's #4 for a reason. If she stands there and takes a couple pitches, you are cheating the team out of a very good opportunity to get a convincing win. Good hitters are good hitters because they are very good at putting strikes into play. They also should be very good at telling a ball from a strike. I believe the aggressive team wins here. You start taking pitches, waiting on a walk, and you wind up in #5 category. Aggressive hitting and baserunning are the trademarks of winning teams.
