We want to thank the Valley Storm 12U team for the tough compitition. You have a great group of girls. Our girls have improved so much in such a small amout of time, Hopefully in a couple of months we be right there with you. This indoor league was the ideal thing for us. It definitly served its purpose. Our girls learned so much from this. Thank you Gateway for this experience. Good luck to all the teams this summer and I'm sure we will see you all in other tournaments.

Thanks Chris ! Your team is right there with all of us. I have to say one of the most improved teams this winter although we are all learning week to week. All of your players are great and all play with lots of heart but your #12 really stands out to me. She is a Monster!!
Good-luck this summer...I am sure we will see you around.

Thanks Rob
? #12 is Sara, I have coached her for the past 5 years, she is coming from slowpitch. This is her first year fastpitch and would you believe it if I told you today was the first time ever that she played catcher. We was playing around in pratice this week and she wanted to try it. Wednesday was the first time she ever put catchers gear on. ? Thats what we said....WOW!!!! ?

valley storm I guess I understand what your saying about bigpimping in some respect but I am not really sure why you would insinuate that some organizations or individuals are "fools" or "idiots" and then not be willing to say what you really mean. maybe some on here would benefit from your experiences.

isn't referring to other people from other organizations as "fools" and "idiots" just as childish as what you claim they have done. The high road is the high road, it does not have to be explained to people that you are taking the high road. ?

Looks like this years indoor League will be inside the New Dome at Gateway. 2 Full size fields with warm-up areas for both teams. Batting cages and pitching lanes also.
Looks like it will be a fun winter league if the construction is done on time. ;)

The Gateway Complex is located in Dayton Ohio just a little east of downtown. Not so sure about the dome however I have heard a number of conflicting stories. I hope that if they do install one that they would mange it better then they do thier outdoor tournaments. Having seen the dome up in Ft. Wayne I can imagine that they are not too cheap. Maybe a millions dollars plus to get something like that off he ground. I do not see them having much success making money with softball tournaments or leagues when they struggled to get teams to play in last years league for $150.00 per team. At 4 to 6 teams per tournament that would not even make enough money to pay the umpires not to mention paying to keep the thing inflated. I would be surprised if any such facility would be constructed just to play indoor winter softball. I hope so, but I would be surprised.

Are there any other indoor leagues in the Dayton / surrounding area?

I think that there is something in Franklin Ohio, and over in Marysville Ohio as well. The league that was run at Gateway last winter was pretty good, just not well attended. When you look at the type of leagues that are run up in the NE part of the state there is no comparison. At Gateway it was more a mix of travelball and rec ball, the competition is not like at Spano Dome or ThunderPlex.

Any more information on whether or not this is happening this year? and also if anyone has more information on the Franklin Ohio indoor league, could you post a contact or link?

Thanks,
Jim
