Top 10u teams:

Last year at GAPSS, we were able to fill a few remaining spots with the best-of-the-best 10u teams and the play and competition was awesome. This year we have 3 remaining spots available and I would like to challenge the top 10u teams in the state who are not already playing to come to GAPSS July 23-25 and let the final poll be decided on the field.

The Classics will consider the Nationals tune up. We had intended to have that weekend off, but we may miss a planned tournament later this month due to pitchers injuries and unavailablity, so that could be a possibility as a make up. Also, I wouldn't want Tadd to go a couple weekends in a row without seeing us for the first time all spring and summer, he might miss us and have withdraws, LOL. Are you having the NSA umpires that worked the Boardman Field of Dreams tournament?

Good to hear you are considering the Nationals Tune-Up Tourny. No worries, we will be using ASA umps. Sorry to hear about your pitcher. Hope she comes back strong.

We haven't played Cincy Shock yet, but I hear good things. I would love to see Wave '99, or Diamond Chix get into GAPSS!

Thunder Elite is playing in the Akron Summer Slam this weekend. Ohio Ice, Diamond Chix and Diamond Dogs are there as well. Should be a good one.

How did Stars get in there?????? Who have they played that's been in the top 10?????

Again first post with a new screen name used to bash someone. They were in the early Lancaster tourney with the Classics, Lasers, Dragons, Xtreeme and Stingrays and did well. Starz are a first year team and the coaches may not have had knowledge of which teams favored which tourneys. I have seen a few other teams on this list who haven't faced a lot of "ranked" teams.

We saw the Starz at the UrbanaScam. They looked pretty good to me. They have a very tough Pitcher!!!!

That is a very good point!!! We also did not know which tourneys some of these teams were going to "early" in the season. We still haven't got our chance at the Lasers Purple yet, though I did watch them play an indoor in Middletown. I'm very excited that we will see them in 4 of our next 5 tournaments. I'm also looking forward to seeing Thunder Elite, Ohio Ice, and Stingrays for the first time. Win or Lose - these should be some very exciting games!!!!!!

We've played the Starz in tourney action and friendly. Finally got their #3 hitter out after going 5 for 5 against us with two triples and a double. That team belongs top 10. Just wish they were going to GAPSS!

No offense to any teams. We've played 6 or 7 of the top ten including Lasers and Hawks Gold. The Starz were the only team that made my defense fear for their safety. Seriously the way they hit the ball against us that first game was just wrong!

Hawks Gold 99 made me fear for my daughters safety after she got drilled in the shin in Beavercreek while pitching. That Girl (Madi) is a monster hitter! Great hitting team all around..

I agree. Hawks Gold is an awesome hitting team and I was real proud of our girls' D holding them to six runs even though we lost. Game against the Starz felt like a WWII air raid though (all the bombs going off). You had to be there.

Jeff, I'm looking forward to the weekend in Akron too, it should be fun. There should be a lot of good games at Firestone this weekend. I know our girls are excited to play on the same field as the Racers. :cap:

After our game this evening I took some of the girls over to Firestone Stadium to watch a game, hoping to ease the WOW factor for our PP game Sat morning in the stadium. The atmosphere is just great at firestone. I watched two 10u girls tonight that were throwing very hard. Silver Creek and Diamond Dogs in a Pitchers dual. Silver Creek won 4-1. I know people have a hard time believing the speeds of 10u girls and how hard they actually throw,But I gunned both for two innings and had the Diamond dog pitcher consistently at 51mph plus. hit 53 four times. Silver Creek pitcher was consistently 49mph plus and hit 51-52 eight to ten times. Nice job both girls!
