I am in need of some advice . My daughter is in 10u . Will be moving to 12u next year . She does play travel ball year round but I'm not sure what to do for rec. The league we are in is unorganized and is not in it for the kids . I would like to switch leagues but not sure of the rules on residents . Would it be better to just do travel instead of both ? Need some advise please.
Thanks

Good luck playing rec and select. If they know and youre not on a 12U A roster, they will not allow you. Been there and got denied.

We decided that playing both would be counterproductive. So we stay strictly with travel. Not to mention the girls that did both, seemed to struggle coming from a slower pitcher back to select pitching.

My 10U played select and 12U rec. She enjoyed her classmates, used rec to practice pitches, and kept our bridges intact because her team "needed" her according to the school Association. It was a rollercoaster of emotions because competitive play versus snacks and giggles started getting mixed. Was it worth it? ....sure...because it was her decision. However, that's our last of rec because competitive travel ball has become a wonderful intoxication.

My DD played rec until 10 and then like it was said above the change from rec pitching to travel was starting to cause a problem so we just stay with travel and it was the right decision for us.
