10U Preseason Poll

This will probably be the hardest age group to get a poll started in for several reasons.

1. Which organizations even have 10U teams?
2. Is the team completely brand new, both in terms of players and to travel ball?
3. What is the carry over of players from the previous year?
4. Will the 10U coaches even feel a poll for this age group has any validity?
5. The fact that the players are 10 and under, you never know what you are going to get from weekend to weekend.

My biggest question is #1.

Really, non of the polls will have any validity until we are into the season and everybody has a chance to see these teams outside in the dirt. Besides, what else are we going to do on Mondays after tournament weekends but disect the previous weekend.

BTW, If I didn't include 10U, there would be people saying, "Where's the 10U poll!!!!!"

Ringer - I undertsand what you are saying about validity. The problem with the 10U is that some are completely brand new teams and we have no idea what to expect.

Can we get a list of 10U teams?

Statman Ray: If Jeff is a pitching coach and if he says he has one throwing at this speed we can count on it. The post on the 9U throwing at college level, well??? www.pitchsoftball.com 1% of all teenage girls hit the speed they posted .

you know it, SB! although, knowing jeff he isn't about the superlatives and exaggerations...about the only word he seems to use the most is stud, as in, "She's a stud." that's enough explanation for me!

You would have to think that with the Top Guns returning the entire team, they have to be near the top of the preseason poll. The HOO Inferno will be very good this summer.

I guess their are more 10U teams than I thought.

I wont comment to the FT comment on our parents and coaches.

To the other teams:
OH
Valley Extreme
Valley Sting
Played them both. Both very strong teams and I am sure they worked over the winter and got stronger. We played VE in the championship and their pitcher and team got stronger as the game went on.

PA
Power - totally agree on the assessment. We scrimmaged twice so far very good pitcher and a nice bunch of girls and coaches.
Spirit - agree on the assessment and they will get stronger as time goes on.
PLR - 3 returning girls, Appreciate the compliment on the one pitcher, actually we have 4 good pitchers, two others working their way into the rotation by the NSA Championships. Last year we struggled getting pitchers at tryouts, this year almost the whole team pitches. Nice problem. Now the only issue is giving fair time to pitchers. Games will dictate.
Wildthings - I know nothing about them.

We go to the FWDome this weekend. No Ohio teams scheduled 2 Mich and 4 Indy teams.
