In bracket play we defeated Finesse-Kubacki (15-2); and Emeralds 09 (11-3); We lost the championship (7-6) to Silver Creek Prospects 08 (PA Team)

The Ohio Storm 08 has an overall record of 20-8-2 since the fall. The team started this spring by going 5-0 and winning the championship at the USA 12U Winter Classic ENQ in March, which was our first tournament since early October. The team recently went 3-1-1 in Marion on April 17-18 at the Future Stars Event. The team will start tournament play at the 2021 Veteran's Memorial in Ashland Ohio on May 22-23. Eight of our ten players are currently playing middle school ball, and are still playing. That is the reason we will not play until May 22-23. Another fun summer with great battles every weekend. Just a quick recap on our history: Having spent the previous 5 years with the SGS Magic organization, this group made a switch and joined the Hawks organization beginning in the 20-21 season. We had been pursued by other orgs over the years and talked to several of the top orgs in Ohio/Michigan last summer. It was a tough decision, but ultimately it was the right one for this group.

Having played against many of these teams (that we are going to see in these rankings) over the last 5-6 years, it’s very clear that this age group is competitive. When you play these teams you have to bring their A game each time they step on the field… every one of these teams is capable of beating each other.

Since the start of the fall, this team has gone 26-7-2. We’ve had two rained out.

We played in Future Stars last weekend which was the first time we’ve played a game outdoors this spring. We ended up 4-1. Hats off to Thunder Elite Vogan – we couldn’t get the bats going that first game and they had a couple timely hits and took advantage of a couple walks and errors. Like I said, you gotta be on your game each time you step on the field.. 1 bad inning against good competition will hurt you (and you gotta score some runs!) Fortunately, our bats/pitching/defense were on fire the next 4 games.
