I'd like to call it clearing up a misunderstanding...if you wish to keep it stirred up it's your skin to sleep in! :)

What do you call playing in the Vandalia Windmill?

Re: 14U ?WORTH - Ohio Wave Fastpitch Classic

Gannon, your words are appreciated and there is no need to explain them to anyone any further. I think that you made it clear and I made it clear that it simply seemed to be misunderstood. We are no different then anyone else in the fact that we are just trying to help all of our players get better and then go back and help their high school teams and get them ready for the next level in college if that is what they are looking for.

I think that I said it here on OFC in a couple other threads that we cannot always control what teams come to the tournaments that we decide to attend. I know that in our case we sometimes try to travel together with our other age groups and that limits us on where we can go. Some of it this season was also financial. Had to pick and choose a little more then normal.

Like I mentioned earlier we appreciate your respoect for our program but it is not just the Greenville program. The Ohio Wave organization has 72 players and around 26 of them are from the Greenville area. Every coaching staff has coaches from multiple cities, and we have players from all over the Miami Valley and Indiana. It is a very diverse group to say the least. We expect that many high school programs benefit from having players on our summer teams. Just look at Ansonia as an example. I think that 6 or 7 of their players played Ohio Wave. Its nice to keep an eye on all of the teams that our players play for. Kinda makes this thing fun.

Anyway, best of luck to you guys this season and keep up the good work.

Regards,

Rich

Pigpen, if you don't mind I hope that will be the only time that we face eachother this season. I especially would not want to face you guys when you were fresh. We had the advantage of waiting and we will take our bragging rights and run (as fast as we can) :)

BTW, please give it up once again to M. Wilson, she did a great job pitching against us. She allowed the fewest runs against us in our past 13 games. Her change-up was as good as we have seen.

Paul, we thought that maybe we would see you guys sometime this weekend but it just did not work out. It looked like you guys were hitting the ball pretty well whenever I got a chance to see you. Its hard to miss you guys with those bright colored uniforms. BTW, the next time the beverages are one you. :)

Well run tourney and great competition. I did see a new face on the mound for Wave-Fletcher during the championship game. Did a nice job... Where did she come from? Her change-ups were wicked. :)

Wave and Dangergirl....MW did do an excellent job on the mound, unfortunately our defense gave up a few more runs than we should have and, we couldn't seem to get our bats going like in the previous games to help her out. It was a tough position to be in and she handled herself well.

The OUTCASTfastpitch organization might be interested. We can't on 7/1 as we have league games at Kettering Fields, but on 7/2 and especially if in Tipp...

Rich you are right, you cannot miss us in the green uniforms - look pretty good don't they. I will buy you a few rounds the next time, I do owe you. Wanted to get to you guys and thought we were going to but it is very hard to do with 9 players. Maybe next time. The competition was fun though and I wish all the teams goodluck the rest of the year.

I was very impressed with the quality of play of all of the teams this past weekend. The umpiring seemed to be a little suspect, but that seems to be the norm. It was too bad that Wave-Fletcher could not put their number one team on the field. Their number one pitcher had pitched almost all of the innings on Sunday and she was out of gas. I heard that they only had three players in the same position than they played the entire weekend (2nd, short, and cf). Not sure why the coaches chose to make so many changes in the championship game. Not saying the outcome would have been any different, but just wondering why all of the changes? Good Job!

VIPERS
In Beavercreek you did something that should tell people you are not what you are being made out to be - the meaning of something can get so twisted.

When game time came around and we told you one of our players was late due to being at her boyfriend?s memorial service and sports/jersey dedication ceremony at his school, you let us start with 8 and bat first so that we wouldn?t have to forfeit.

He died in a car accident in March.

Most of our girls were crying with and or for that player during most of the game.

I just wanted you to know that even while we fell apart (you run ruled us) we never heard one smart remark or any negative comments.

Not all coaches would have done that - you showed class and compassion.

We hope to see you again.

Thanks,
Rick Davis

Rick....I know I speak for the whole Viper organization in expressing sorrow over your teams loss of a friend. We too have had our share of tragedy and sometimes we all need to sit back and remember that although highly competitive it is still a game......whatever we as a softball community can do to keep the young ladies active, off the streets, and doing something positive in their life...then we all have been successful.
Gannon was just poking fun at Rich...they are friends and some took it the wrong way....Rich understood so no big deal. Again so sorry your team had to go through that...we had a similar situation in school ball at Miamisburg...it really tore the whole team up.......when one of them hurt they all hurt......guess that means they have good team unity.....or they really are humble, human little creatures! Good Luck with the rest of your year!

Five O-

I was suprised, as you were, with all of the changes in the championship game. I'm not sure if you would have seen a different result had the players been different, but I will say that I was very disappointed in the attitude of pitcher #1. I happened to be standing behind the bleachers and witnessed some remarks towards other team mates and parents that wasn't very sportsman-like. I'm would imagine it was because she wasn't pitching the championship game, but a team is a team and you need to support each other.
