Yes. You should never have to apologize for being successful and proud of the hard work put in to be successful. We talk about marketing and recruiting all the time. If no one talks about how well a kid, team, coach, org, whatever, does then how do we know? Sure that leaves you open to criticism as well, but if your afraid of that, then you'll probably never truly be successful.
As long as you stay positive and not unduly tear someone else down to prop your agenda up, then be loud and proud.
If you don't like hearing good things about other people, and it bothers you that much, your going to have a generally difficult time in life. My 2 cents.
