@Musty:
I don't believe that the "volunteers" who are responsible for posting and overseeing Stingrays results at their tourney and on the web site are volunteers in the sense that you connote. I have had communications with at least two of them (one of whom is the TD) both informally and with respect to Stingrays Tourney matters off and on over several years. They are committed, experienced, and understand all the ins and outs of their tournament. We are talking years of experience with this tournament before they began posting on-line results. More importantly with respect to Stingrays, I think that they would tell you that without the Obsidian softball and training in its application they couldn't just "post results to their site". I don't have to ask the Stingrays what it takes, I already know what it takes: money to Obsidian and "volunteers" who commit hours well beyond the weekend to the endeavor. And I don't think I would demand that of a TD who is charging $425 for entry and has no idea whether the capital commitment to the Obsidian tournament software or other software vendors will be returned through the award by Ohio ASA of future 16u tournaments, which awards are made on a year to year basis.
It's not just a matter of picking up somebody off the street. Nor is it a matter of "not caring".
