Re: 2008 Tigertown Annual Spring Tour. Game Schedu
The TD has really gone above and beyond with accomodating everyones scheduling requests, including for us, so hopefully I don't come off as being ungrateful by asking this. ? ?
There are 10 teams in the tourney for 12u. ?If you look at the 12u championship bracket for Sunday, #7 plays # 10 and #8 plays #9 in the first round. ?#1-#6 all have a "bye" into the second round. ?No problem there. ?But then the winner of the #7 and #10 game then plays the #4 seed at 12 pm. ?The #1 seed is scheduled to play the #6 seed at 10:30 am. ?Is it me or is it better to be the #4 seed? ?Their first game will be against a #7 or #10 while the #1 has to play the #6 seed in their first game. ?And the 4 seed gets to sleep a little longer on top of it. ?The same is true on the other side of the bracket with #2 seed. ?The #2 will play the #5 seed at 10:30 am while the #3 seed gets to sleep a little longer and play their first game at 12 pm against the winner of the #8/#9 game. ? I do realize that in the end you play who you play and to win it all you'll have to beat all you face, but it kind of makes Saturday a little meaningless to a certain degree. ? If ?a team earns the #1 seed it should be guaranteed the lowest seed possible for its first game on Sunday. ?Not the #4 seed. ?Kind of does matter since most teams adjust their rotation to fit the schedule ahead on Sundays.
Shouldn't it be:
the #1 plays the winner of the #8/#9 game at 12pm
The #2 plays the winner of the #7/#10 game at 12pm.
#3 plays #6 at 10:30
#4 plays #5 at 10:30
Could switch the game times I guess, as its the opponent that really matters.
Any thoughts or logic on why its set up this way? ?Maybe I'm missing something here.
