Congratulations to our Firebirds on winning the 14U Chix Cup. We played three great games on Sunday vs the Cyclones (3-2) MC Madness (1-0) and final against the Ohio Power (1-0). Great pitching duel by Jill H, Firebirds and Haley H, Ohio Power in the final.

Overall a nicely run tournament, however a little disappointing to have played the Cyclones in three of our six games over the weekend. It?s always nice to play as many different teams as possible.

Excellent pitching by the Firebirds. Really enjoyed playing you. . . Congrats on a great tournament. Hawks have a stud shortstop that we enjoyed watching.

Jill from the Firebirds was seriously tough. Hats off to her. Congrats ladies, 1-0 games in the semi-finals and finals, Wow. Sliman's looked much improved and I second on the Hawk's shortstop. That girl is a beast.

Well done Dan and the 99 Gold Hawks! The ICE game was a barn burner, shame you guys could not have finished it ....

The Hawks brought up 6 teams from Middletown and it was a good weekend of softball for all - very much enjoyed it.

It was great meeting some new friends and coaches - the 12u Cyclones have a great team and I really enjoyed talking to their coaches. Chix teams and Starzz teams played tough and were real battlers ... we enjoyed the tough competition.. thanks all.

Congrat's to our 98 Black team for going 6-0 in the 12u division, you girls played solid all weekend, they had 2 over-the-fence HR's, 1 ball off the fence and I think only made 2 errors all weekend... well done Ladies.

Also, Congrat's to our 94 Black team, they ended up in the championship game at the 16u division only to be stormed out by mother nature as well...

My daughters and I got to witness the 14U championship game between the Ohio Power and Lady Firebirds. Both pitchers were unreal. My two dd's (11 & 9yr old pitchers) really enjoyed watching those girls master the mound. Great game! Congrats to both teams! I also have to say to the girl (sorry can't recall her number) who got the loan RBI. That was a great clutch hit with two outs! Nice job!

Also got to see some of the 10U and 12U championship games. Hawks 98 Black are a very good team as advertised. My dd's played them in pool play but lost 8-2. Coaches were a class act. Congrats to them.
The 12U Starzz played their butts off in this tourney too. Nice Job!

The 10U champ game was a lot of fun. Both the pitchers were throwing some heat and both teams could hit the ball. Congrats to both the Hawks and the Ohio Ice.

dd's team, 12u Diamond Chix Blue, faced the 98 Hawks in the semi's and the 97's in pool play. Both teams brought out the bats!

You should have come up and introduced yourself! I love meeting OFC'rs... ChixBlue is a tough, good team.. they loaded the bases in the first inning and I was like - oh no, here we go! I enjoyed chatting the parents up, good folks.. Allison G (our pitcher from up there) was nervous as heck, it sure dialed in her focus...

Hope to see the Chix down here in the spring next season. Wish you all the best...

Starzz worked hard, coach told me they were wore out before our final game, but they played hard, and had us worried in the last inning. (they had some tall girls .. 3rd base was a great kid, hit that bomb to the fence in the last inning)

We were so glad to play some teams we had not faced before, refreshing for us and the girls .. they love'd it up there in Cleveland...

Of course.. I'm sorry... I recall now.. that was a great complex - we were amazed at how dry you guys have it up there... we are green as can be here... it was dusty for sure...

I told the girls that they should take it all in - the heat, wind, and dust .. that is the core of fastpitch softball and those moments will stay with them forever. Our girls were dirty, sweaty and all smiles both days.. great stuff!

Great games, great complex, and great bunch of teams. Diamond Chix 12U has a very tough team. Hawks 97 Gold girls battled to win a 3-2 nailbiter. Probably one of the best games of the year. Good pitching, good hitting and great defense. Congrats to the Starrz in their 4-3 win over us. They have a good team and played a great game to get to the finals. Some tough bats in that lineup... Congrats to Dougs 98 Black team on their win. The 98 Black girls battled all weekend and did a great job representing the HAWKS... We cant wait to meet up with all these teams again next yr....

Now that is funny... we got a lot of 'feedback' ;& from our parents, and still do, over Black and Gold ... Bengal orange runs deep in our families - it kills some of them to have to wear the blk/gold...

One other note: The umpiring all weekend was a good as we have seen it anywhere ... excellent overall. We have played in the top ASA tourney's all season and this NSA crew was tops.
