Its early.....
Dayton metro extends down to cincy. Plus this tourney covers the state of Ohio.
Does that mean the cincy METRO also extends all the way to Dayton?
And if it covers the entire state why call it a METRO?
Correct me if im wrong, but I have the understanding that the Dayton "METRO" is the only usa/asa qualifier in the state of ohio that is calling itself a "METRO" tournament that will let in teams that are not from thier "METRO" area.
I was told the reason that the cincy metro commisioner would not let any teams in that are not from thier metropolitan area was that she wanted to have a team from her area represented at nationals.VERY NICE she has loyalty to girls in her area.
By the way, METRO im guessing is short for metropolitan
met?ro?pol?i?tan
1.of, noting, or characteristic of a metropolisor its inhabitants, especially in culture, sophistication, or in accepting and combining a wide variety of people, ideas, etc.
2.of or pertaining to a large city, its surrounding suburbs, and other neighboring communities: the New York metropolitan area. 3.pertaining to or constituting a mother country.
4.pertaining to an ecclesiastical metropolisolitan?
With this being the defenition of "METRO"....
Why are all the teams that are truly DAYTON METRO teams not upset that any team in ohio or maybe other states can have a shot at OUR asa/usa metro berth.
I understand that the national association has no control over any"METRO".
So it will be up to the our local association to do the right thing.
I would ask that all local Dayton teams and orgs. who feel the same way to contact Clyde Brewer or Doug Lenos.
With all that being said, I am aware and thankful for all the great things Clyde Brewer and Doug Lenos have done for girls in this area.(my DD included)
I love to watch the kids play and grow.
BUT I HATE OHSAA AND TRAVEL BALL.
Sorry had to vent (fall ball is over for us)LOL
