Coach's in the East and Southeast need to step it up! I think to many of them quit as soon as season is over. The kids deserve the opportunity. Every kid should be informed of what is going on and not keep it a secret. Who are you protecting? Yes it can be a humbling experience when you get there and see some of the girls from these other districts, but if you want to get to the top level you have to see what the top is. Give everyone a chance. If they don't make the team they will get over it soon and work that much harder.

No players from West , Wheelersburg , Valley , Notre Dame , Minford either . I'd guess all of those schools had a winning % of 700- 800 this year .. Could have ask Koch and Malizio or Conley from Valley . Burg could have sent Cunningham, Dempsey , Salyers , Nolfi . ND had Harr, Phillips or Pierron Minford could have had Conkey . I understand all might not be able to make it but not sending our best makes us all look bad . other districts promote the game , they have huge turnouts for tryouts usually held during the week as not to interfere with summer ball. Whatever we are doing needs revised. --- ( and Sosby from Whiteoak would have been a great idea )

FYI - Sosbey was asked, but said she would not be there on Monday. Coach did not want to give up the automatic out for the girls that did show up. It is easy to see tryout dates for this event on the OHSFSCA page. MD did you let your ND players know? We all have to be held accountable and part of the solution. My dd will not participate in this event again because the representation is so bad and she does not like to get beat down. She did enjoy the fellowship with Lyndsey Ward, Jade Spriggs and Maddie Creighton. Thanks to those and the other girls, we were able to even have a team.

I agree with all that this needs to be communicated better. That being said, there were several kids from Central Ohio that did not play. Kyle did a nice job with the tryouts. But in case anyone thought we got all the all-state kids from Central Ohio, not the case. I know the all district player of the year and all metro player of the year did not play and also Taryn did not play. No grove city kids either. But the kids that did play were very good and good for them, there were alot of college coaches there. One question - if this is about an honor to make it and represent your district, then why not pick from the 1st team all district kids, then 2nd team etc? Also, for the kids that have verballed (like mine), if this is about exposure then why allow them to play? I know that at least a few of the Central kids have verballed.

Just wanted folks thoughts on this - Hannah enjoyed her 2 years playing - met lots of friends and made new ones!!

Actually we did drive down to the tryouts that morning so she could explain to Odie why SHE felt that she should not tryout. She had committments out of state on Tuesday and knew that the SE team got burnt last year when a girl accepted and did not show. The coach had nothing to do with it, but did say that he appreciated her honesty.

I have to believe that ALL of the districts have the same problem. Just look at the rosters! Why complain about it? You think that if everybody had their true best you would win?

Im not complaining about not winning , just be competitive enough to where the girls enjoy it . thats all. SEO is getting killed so bad the girls dont want to play .
