In the fall of 2016 the Ohio Hawks established a Gold program to enhance and provide better college recruiting scholarship opportunities for our players. So far in 2017, we have had 22 college commitments, 11 into D1 programs.
In the past four 1/2 years, we have helped placed 108 Hawks into college softball programs, 28 at the Division I level. We currently have 10 players signed or verbally committed to Division 1 programs this season in our organization. We have 9 additional players playing now that we anticipate accepting offers by the end of the fall season. DI schools where Hawks players are currently playing or are signed are: University of Kentucky, Charleston Southern (3), University of Louisiana-Monroe, St. Peters (2), Tennessee State (2), Morehead State, Marshall, Ohio University (2), Winthrop, Bowling Green, University of Toledo, Miami of Ohio, University Tennessee - Martin, University of Dayton, and Wright State (3).
Requirements for Gold team players will be as follows:
Players will take hitting lessons on a regular basis from either Coach Hutchinson, Coach Lenos, or an approved established outside hitting instructor such as Tim Duncan, Jodi Hall-Curnutte, Ali Viola, etc.. Pitchers will work on a regular basis with an established pitching coach like Gillis, Landers, Jodi Hall-Curnutte, etc.(this list is representative of instructors we know are reputable and teach accordingly.)
Players will be required to participate in speed, strength and agility programs during the off-season with their teams or HS teams. Players will engage in regular contact with schools for their recruiting advancement and attend camps all fall and winter. Players will schedule and attend recruiting camps over the winter camp season. Gold teams will train indoor at a facility we contract with in Springboro, OH.
Ohio Hawks Gold designated teams will play in 3-4 fall showcases from the following: Stingrays, Diamond 9 Orlando, Scenic City TN, Fall Brawl, Atlanta Legacy, Triple Crown and others.
We will establish an aggressive summer schedule designed to promote player recruiting and player development and growth. Summer tournaments/showcases to include the Dayton Metro, Scenic City, Atlanta Legacy, ASA Hall of Fame, Pennsbury Showcase, Demarini Showcase, Stingrays, ASA Gold Qualifiers.
Our 18u teams goal will be to qualify and play in the ASA 18u Gold tournament. All other Gold teams will go to the ASA/USA tournament for their age group. In 2016, the Hawks sent 3 teams to ASA Gold Nationals.
The following are the established Gold teams for 2018:
Contact the coaches below to arrange for private tryouts. Due to the fact that we have a small degree of player turnover, we no longer conduct organization wide tryouts, each team hold private/public workouts on their own to fill their roster spots.

Our team fees are among the lowest in Ohio. The average Gold team fee is below $1200 for all fall tournaments/indoor winter training and summer tournaments, uniforms and equipment.. We use the proceeds from the very successful Dayton Metro to keep our player fees as low as possible. We also have extensive fundraising programs.
We will continue to have teams within the organization that are not designated as Gold but will play at a very high level and have success with player recruiting. At the younger ages (12u) we will have teams designated as Gold that will be in training to step into our 14u program as soon as they are eligible. They will have higher training requirements and schedule designed to prepare them for their 14u Gold year.
