Why should the kids get to have all of the fun? Most, if not all, of the parents & coaches who read these posts played high school baseball or softball. Some were fortunate enough to play at higher levels. Nowadays, most of us had made the decision to hang up the cleats & pick up the fungo bat & stop watch. But, that doesn't meant we wouldn't like to let our competitive juices flow every now & again, even at our ages (I'm 44).
So, at Field of Dreams, the new indoor facility in Lancaster we have decided to allow us to live out those dreams. Yes we will have another youth hitting league starting in January, and I will announce that in another post. This post is about the adult hitting leagues we are forming.
The link to the flyer is attached as is the link to the registration form. CO-Ed on Thursday & men's league on Friday nights. With enough interest we will start a women's league.
Each team will consist of 4 players who will each bat 6 innings in each game. Each inning consists of 2 bunts and 5 hits. Scores will be determined based upon the location of the bunts & hits. It has always been fun taking my team (Ohio Glory '01) to the batting cages & getting into the cage myself. It's a huge risk, because now the spotlight is on you, coach, but it is so rewarding & the girls just love it. Come on out to Field of Dreams in Lancaster & participate in our adult league. Put a team of coaches & parents together & play against "Team FOD", which is a co-ed team made up of the owners and instructors from Field of Dreams. It will be a lot of fun & is a way for us to play the game again without the risk of injuries.
The leagues begin the week of Jan 13. Registrations are being accepted now. You can drop off your registration and check in person, mail them to us or call us with your credit card # and we can handle your registration over the phone.
