Another Scoring Question

Runners on 1st and 2nd 1 out. Ground ball to short and shortstop gets interfered with. Someone would have been out on the play (a very routine ground ball). Is the batter credited with a hit or does it go as a fielders choice? ATEC says the batter gets a hit if they would have made first without the interference, but doesn't address this situation (at least that I could find).

Thanks!

With the very routine ground ball and someone would have been out I would score a fielder's choice for the batter/runner.

I agree with IceBlack29. The shortstop is credited with the putout.

ATEC only allows the scorer to give the batter a hit where a runner interferes with a batted ball, not when they interfere with a fielder or a thrown ball. An example of this would be a batted ball that would have gone for a hit if it hadn't touched the runner.
