Last year's 16u saw some of the best teams in NEO and the age group winner (Tigerlillies) went on to win ASA Eastern Nationals.

Doug ... that Tigerlillies team was excellent ... it seemed like we ran into them almost every tournament we played in last year! Our team from last year played in the Maple Leaf where we faced and watched some excellent competition, but we did not play in the Cinderella ... who were some of the other high profile teams in the various age divisions in that one?

Jeff,

I totally agree about that Tigerlillies (Hawkins) Team, they were well rounded and solid. I don't want to make any judgement on who should be considered High Profile and who should not. All I know is that it was all-n-all a great pool of teams at every age level.

Anyone can view the pools and results on our website at www.BreakersFP.org/tourn

Good point ... I wasn't thinking when I asked that ... you don't need anyone getting upset why there were left off your list! But looking at that link, definitely some quality teams. Looking forward to playing in both Breakers tournaments next year ... is it summer yet?!

Working up plans for the Saturday evening Pig Roast. This is something we talked about last year, now we just have to investigate the feasability of it.

Multi-teams discount requires more than a single team on the same check, it is that simple. First team pays $425 and all other pay $400.

Remember to take advantage of the Pre-Paid parking passes to maximize your savings. All pre-paid parking is fully refundable in the event that the tournament is completely canceled.

We have received a tremendous amount of verbal commitments, please keep in mind that I will add you to the list of teams entered when I receive your paperwork. I know many teams are waiting to complete their rosters because they are missing a player or two. Get your registration paperwork in soon, the roster and waiver can be sent in later.

I have been asked a number of times about who attended last year. HERE is a link to that info.

I have been asked multiple times about how the "multi-team" discount works and about the PAID berth, so here is the info:

You need more than one team on the same check. The 1st team pays full price, but all subsequent teams receive a $25 discount. We had several orgs submit 5 or 6 teams all at the same time last year so they maximized their savings.

The paid berth is just that, we write the check to the Eastern National TD to pay for your team's entry. This past year it was $425 and I can only imagine it will go up, so it is essentially like getting your entry fee + back when you win your age division.

So let's add this up so everyone understands why we are asking $425 entry. Here is what we pay out:

$425 to winner in each age group (or whatever Nationals entry is this year)
$450 T-shirts for 1st & 2nd place (custom Champion & Finalist for up to 15 per team)
$875 total per age group or

$4375 for all 5 age groups total. No other tournament I know of offers prizes that large just for playing in the tournament.

Mutli-Team discount applies to more than a single team on one check. Please read earlier in this thread for an example of how it works and the $$ it can save your teams.

We do not charge an individual gate fee at either of our tournaments. If you want to bring out a van full to watch the games you pay only to park. read earlier in the thread for parking options.

NO PORTA-JOHNS!!! We have three (3) brick-n-mortar restrooms and Three concession stands. And we actually have staff whose sole job is to keep the restrooms clean and supplied.

We had 8 pallets of diamond dry onsite for both of our tournaments last year. The rain did not affect us, we played all games on time on Friday and Saturday. This was accomplished by having a dedicated staff and because we hire the city crews to ensure things run smoothly. The tornados on Sunday were a different story, but safety is paramount with us.

We offer a PAID berth to eastern nationals to the winner in each age group. That's $425 to pay your entry fee, tell me that doesn't help a teams budget in this economy. Last year we paid for teams from the Ice, Tigerlillies, Valley Extreme and NEO Dynamite to attend nationals. This year it may be you!

I know this isn't the most important thing in a tournament, but Cinderella had an awesome concession stand, especially the Hersey stand with the best peach smoothie I have ever had! So good, I slurped that up and had the hubby get me another one. :)

They will be even better this year. We have the same concessions returning plus a few additions that I think everyone will like.
