Is there a form you need to sign in order to release a player from your summer team in order for her to join a new summer team? Can anyone provide a link to such form if it exists? If not is there any thing that does need to be done? This is a new situation for me. Thank you.

Parma Wildcats is correct. . . you will need to provide Warren with the players name and he will do the paper work and will then advice you once the player has been officially released. It is a quick process as long as the player has not participated in a tournament where your team has qualifed for a Nationals birth, whether it's Regional Nationals or the Big Show.

So this isn't something that is typically handled by the local district guy? Thanks again!

What if the team that the player is leaving has qualified? What is the process?

I have inquired about adding a player to my team for this weekend's National at Kettering and was told that any player I roster for this tourney is on my roster and not eligible to play for any other team in a ASA qualifier .. the Doom inquired and was told the same thing.. makes sense, keeps players from bumping from team to team every weekend to play in qualifiers and distort the integrity of the process.

If anyone knows any different please let me know ASAP.

It is my understanding that the guest player can then be released to her normal team. I need to check that out ASAP and I will get back on this board, as it affects whether we will have 10 or 11 players this weekend. I totally agree that a player who is rostered with a team that plays in a Champion play tournament becomes a member of that team. What I don't believe to be correct is the notion that she cannot be released to go back to play with the team she planned on playing with the remainder of the summer.

If anyone can cite verse and chapter, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I'll be reading those verses and chapters and posting something tonight.

I think it was Eric - on Doom 97 - he needed a player..

the rule makes sense ... if a team can pick her up, release her and she go play with another team in a qualifier next week what good does it do? The intent is to prevent mercenary players from ruining the integrity of the tournements.

Basically, a player can only be roster once in a ASA Qualifier on 1 team .. that is the understanding I got from 2 JO Commissioners. If it is not a qualifier, she can play - but every tourney is a Q anymore.

How about a kid that decides to play up a level? Can you be on 1 roster and play for an older team?

I'm understanding if they are realeased..cool but they can't go back to the original team.Doug pasted a good copy in the "pickup player" post in the general section.I think we'd all like to have the right answer because I don't want to call Warren and repeat the question again and again and again...

If she's playing up and rostered on the team, she cannot play down during the year she is on the roster. . .
