ASA/USA 16U Nationals Normal, Illinois

Our Ohio Lasers Green Team, I believe finished 17th. We had a great game vs the Florida Panthers 01. It was a rematch from the ASA/USA 14U National Championship game in Sioux Falls last year. As a Coach I knew, they had an edge, as it was a revenge game for them. It was 4-4 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th, with runners at 2nd & 3rd. I called a 2nd straight curve and a grounder in the 3/4 hole gave them the win. Dang I should've called a Screw...lol.

They threw there 6 ft 2020 Alabama commit and I am proud of my girls for getting 9 hits against her, including 2 solo shots around 225' to straight away center from our 3 hitter.

Then we came out the next morning and faced the Georgia Southern Force 00. They jumped on us 3-0 in the Top of the 1st. We answeared with 3 in the bottom of the first. It was tied 4-4 until the Top of the 6th, when they scored 2 runs. We went down quietly in our half of the inning, thus ending our 15U year.

Thanks Heater & Jeff!! It was a very good year for Ohio Fastpitch at the 16U level. We have definitely closed the gap with the Southern Teams!!

I know we played 5 of the Top 8 Teams at Nats this summer and all 5 games were 1 RUN games.

1) 2nd TN Frost Falcons...2-2...@ Scenic City.
2) 7th Ohio Lasers Orange...2-1...@ Sheer Madness.
3) 3rd Ohio Emeralds...4-3...@ Stingrays.
4) 1st Alabama Firecrackers...4-3...@ Atlanta Legacy. A 10 inning, 4 ITB game
5) 7th Florida Panthers...5-4...@ ASA/USA 16U Nats.

Just gotta keep getting those high end reps!!

Congratulations to all Ohio teams for their strong finishes. I'd like to thank all the parents and families on my team that make every weekend seem like a family reunion. Looking forward to next year already!
