So the field is set and it appears to include 184 teams from around the country. Maybe not the exclusive numbers that PGF consists of but I guarantee there will be some great teams still attending ASA next week. Thoughts on early contenders or how Ohio will fair? I count 10 going but could be missing a few.

185 teams now. That's got to be a record number, if it's accurate. Meanwhile, 16G Nats in OR only has 33 teams for its 48 spots.

Yes, that is a huge number and a lot of (369) double elimination games. Most of the time in the past, I remember a count in the low 100's. If you go into the loser's bracket early there, you better be at least 4-5 deep in pitching and 2-3 in catching.

16U is usually the largest and I recall several years with 162-168. Last year was down with the addition of ASA 16G and PGF 16U Platinum.

We'll know the final number when pools are posted.

I watched Lasers Scarlet win 9 or 10 straight in the loser's bracket one year to finish in the top 10. The lost their first bracket game to a team from the NW.

In 2009 at 18u USA/ASA in Las Vegas, Nv., the SunDogs lost the first bracket game and won 12 in a row in the loser's bracket to finish runner-up. 139 Teams.

My guess is after your loss 10 to get to championship 11 to win it since you would beat them twice.That would be a awesome day of ball but hopefully Lasers red doesn't try it.
