I will agree with you on that aspect Jim. I do not think it is fair if you had to play all your games off the beaten path. There should of been a rotation system some how. I know we played 4 in the main complexes and 2 out back. I thought that was pretty fair but all teams should of been that way as well. I see your point. Now be easy with the golf clubs on the daughter though or you will not have to worry about her contacting anymore coaches, lol.

Static is correct, it is the TDs obligation to at least try and rotate some teams to the main areas, are they all going to get there? Maybe it is hard, but to dump them at the dump, not good in this posters mind......

DING!
Now I do agree that the TD should have done a better job in trying to allocate equal playing time on the high traffic fields but college coaches drive a lot of this. A good showcase TD will request information from the coaches and try to appease so they come back. Without college coaches this is just another make believe "showcase" tournament and we all know there's already way too many fake tourneys out there.

If you are lucky enough to get college attendance you will have to spotlight the teams they want to see in the closest environment. Unfortunately, this means the lesser known teams can suffer while the rich get richer. BUT these high profile orgs have earned this right as well by producing high quality players each year.

Personally, I've never been a huge fan of any showcase held at Berliner. It's way too spread out and only conducive to large tournaments. A college coach has a limited amount of time and they aren't going to spend their weekend walking from one end of Berliner to the next.

It's obviously too late now but if SJ is honestly interested in showcasing next fall be sure to get in the right tournament. Stingrays, O'Fallen, Best of Best and Scenic City are some of the best because they also pick the top venues. Most are built in quad or 8 fields max which makes it easy to see a lot of talent without walking a marathon. You'll have to be accepted to these but if you get in you should be there for sure.

And with Stingrays getting the Hilliard 8 pack fields too, that's a huge win for the college coaches too! 8 pack at OSU and Hilliard with lights.......

Weren't most of the games held on the turf fields? I know all of our games were. Even if you walked from the back quad to the front one it didn't take that long. I just got a few extra steps in on my fitbit.... I am confused as I do not think all of the fields were being used, correct me if I am wrong. I don't see why you would want to spend all day relocating if you played back to back or even with 1 game break.

All the fields were not used, we never played in any quad, we played behind the back quad, on fields 24-25

We played the Wolfpack on a dirt field back that way and college coaches came to watch players from both teams.

Likewise, we also had two games on dirt; outside the quads and had several coaches on hand to watch. I agree with previous posts indicating the self promotion is the key.
