Besides desire and feel for the girl, what wouls be a couple of the truly best composites out there for pop? I have read one on here before that had the Easton Synergy as one because someone said all new composites are 95mph besides Easton...this true? if so what is the best easton composite out there new or old that is legal for play?

All bats are under the same restrictions. Feel is the key - and that depends of the hitters abilities.

Personally I would never buy anything from Easton unless there are no other options......yes I hold grudges!!!

Best new composites are the Demarinis hands down, but if i was going to get a bat, id spring for a older Easton composite Scn1b-Scn6b model.

You are right, on ability. oldest DD swingin a catalyst went to a xeno same weight ..swears it sooo much lighter.She(5'2" 110lbs)is an avg hitter that gets the ball through the infield a little quicker now, she could use a few more lessons but I wont push it ...thats a subject for another thread, lol! However my 12U DD swithed from a RT that she was swingin for 2 yrs is now swingin a 31/21-CF5 , also says it feels lighter than her 05 RT 30/20 ,"which by the way is still HOT"

I like the synergy scn2b or the scx24b ( a 2000 ASA stamp). The synergy speed is a very good bat. The miken icon is nice as well as the muzunno frenzy. My DD doesn't like the Demarinis since they are a 2-piece bat but agrees that the Phenix is hot. A friend says the worth 425 is nice too. Watch college to see that they are using.

My daughter likes her TPS Cat FPC205. I had to pry her Easton Synge from her fingers but she really likes this bat now. I always heard bats from 2004-05 were pretty hot. 05 Rocket tech is pretty popular as well but I don't think its a composite.

As far as i can see in the line of new composits the demarini cf5 has tons of pop well ahead of most others, and i too would not buy easton

I would agree to an extent. I have seen girls with the CF5 had them for a year and they lost there pop its dead in the sweet spot. And these bats were not misused. Now my daughter and several other girls on the team have the Easton Stealth Speed and those seem to have more pop then they ever had, My Daughters is 2 years old and its really sending the ball off the bat.

The CF5 is still number 1 to this guy, however the Louisville Xeno is VERY VERY VERY CLOSE

I'm with ya Mark. How soon people forget...

For those who have forgotten, remember Jim Easton whenever your daughter hits a "glass ceiling" in her life. Jim Easton created one for your daughter when he recused himself from the I.O.C., and did not vote for continued inclusion of women's fastpitch in the Olympics. A memorable quote from another softball aficionado:

"...remember the vote was tied and Easton abstained, so while it was not the fault of any one person, it could have been saved by one person. That person chose not to be the hero that could have offered inspiration to millions of young girls and boys across the globe."

Technically, he didn't abstain, but recused himself because of a supposed conflict of interest with his company. If that's the case, why was he ever on the board in the first place?? If there was a conflict, it was when he was admitted to the board! IMO, Jim Easton is a "Pin Head". Why support an unethical individual, or his enterprise, who is essentially antagonistic to the advancement of women's fastpitch? Vote with your wallet.

A couple of things:

Thanks to the Salt Lake City scandal, it was written that if a board member could gain financially, the board member must recuse themself from the vote. Jim Easton followed the rules.
Jim Easton no longer owns the baseball and softball side of Easton Sports.
Jim Easton has since funded Team USA for travel around the world.
Jim Easton worked hard trying to get softball reinstated for the 2016 Olympics.
Easton Sports is still a major supplier and sponsor of Team USA.

Not buying Easton baseball and softball equipment is not hurting Jim Easton one bit since he no longer owns it. If you like the feel and performance of Easton bats, buy one!

I agree Lenski...seems to me he was doing the ethical things as opposed to what was suggested as being unethical. Also not voting or recusing doesnt fit in the ethical area.

Not saying I back or not but Easton isnt going anywhere, it is a big name and too many people will buy it that dont even know about the olympics thing so y be that way? im not that way I just asked about their bats and FWIW I dont even own one..im a rocketTeck guy but DD wants to try one and I just dont believe they are near the pop ANY of them as a rocketteck ('04 or '05) that is.

I have 2- '04s and 2 '08s do was asking because I dont see the additional pop like an RT and dont know for sure what to look at...prob end up with the 2013 CF5 hope bat. Seen it, that thing is sweet!

chstrahl - certainly didn't say or want Easton to do anything unethical.

Len - you post is definately news to me. I guess I need to do more research. I do remember the news reports very well when this first happened and I don't think this was ever brought up. I guess I have something to look up today...lol

Back to the bats - I think a little while ago there was a discussion about this. The fact remains that the new bats all conform to the same exit speeds - both before and after breakin. The difference is the weight distribution and the speed of the swing. I was able to talk to a national rep from one of the bat manufacturing companies 2 months ago. Although this bat was not his brand, he said the hottest bat out of the wrapper these days is the Xeno - hands down. But as was stated above once the other bats break in the exit speeds are the same. I know before the new restrictions were put in place there were many hot bats made annually. But the one bat that really caused the Associations (ASA Specifically) to up the testing was the Phenix. Hands down the hottest bat ever after breakin.

Your right the RT is not composite ...just trying to compare the "performance" of the RT to a CF5 . One thing that Im not aware of, is the performance CF5 in cold weather?

We bought the CF5 Hope bat this winter and didn't realize it wasn't end loaded. My DD had been used to hitting a CF3. I sold that one and bought the CF5 Insane which is end loaded. The cold temperature performance was definitely not as good as warmer temps, but as soon as it warmed up outside my DD hit 2 over the fence last week. With the CF3 she could get it to the fence. With CF5 she got it over. If you ask her, she will never swing another bat!!!!
