Utica High School's softball coaching staff violated Sports Regulation 5, Instructional Programs, and Sports Regulation 7, Open Gymnasium or Facilities, when it organized structured activities for members of the team during the 2010 practice period reserved for pitchers and catchers. As a result, the OHSAA has ruled that the school's coaching staff is only permitted to allow its players to be involved with general conditioning and weight training during the 2011 period reserved for pitchers and catchers (February 21 - March 6).
Batavia Clermont Northeastern High School's varsity softball coach violated Sports Regulation 4.9, Members of the Interscholastic Coaching Staff-Team Sports, when he coached two members of the school team twice during September practices and twice during scrimmages in September and October. As a result, the coach is prohibited from coaching the team during the first four contests of the 2011 season (he may not travel to a contest with the team or sit in the dugout) and the school has been fined $150.
Cincinnati Glen Este High School's varsity softball coach violated Sports Regulation 4.9, Members of the Interscholastic Coaching Staff-Team Sports, when he coached a member of the school team during two weekends in September for a total of seven contests. As a result, the coach is prohibited from coaching the team during the first four contests of the 2011 season (he may not travel to a contest with the team or sit in the dugout) and the school has been fined $150.
