Catcher in SW OH looking to catch for pitching lessons

I think it is evident to see that perhaps our current president has impacted us to the point where we are all dependent on others and would rather do away with honest capitalism and take advantage of the entitlement system he promotes on a regular basis. I will be sure to tell my DD that she is not to try to earn an honest buck and that perhaps we should return to an age where she can't play sports and should forget about voting, going to college, and God forbid she think about going to college to try to have a career and work outside the home. It blows me away that people made this big of a deal out of a girl trying to earn a few buck, and get their short sided not so funny jokes in along the way. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU!

The fact is a young lady started a thread offering to catch pitching lessons for $10. Lou got on and pointed out to her potential clients that they can do it themselves for free.

Well what in the heck would her potential clients have done had they not been informed by Lou that they could do it themselves for free?

Way too big a deal made out of this. The poll is running about 5 to 1 parents that would rather catch their daughters' themselves for free. So that 1 in 5 is the potential client base she needs to attract. No one is discouraging parents from hiring this girl by pointing out they can do it for free themselves. I think they may have already known that.....so no harm done.

Oh, and I don't know Lou or Len.

Yes Roto ist ok that you low balled the potential number of clients that could of been turned away by this thread. If 5-1 makes you feel better then 1/2 are potential clients then go for it. Its all about the kids.

Hey, we agree on something. This poor girl was just trying drum up some business to make a couple bucks and drama queens had to butt in with the "I'm not trying to start anything BUT" and then they proceed to start some drama. If he had just left her alone to find out if there was a market for her service and if others hadn't chimed in with more drama backing him up she would have peacefully been enjoying making a few honest dollars. I jumped in to defend her against the drama queens but I wionder what motivated those that didn't have use for her service to thread on her parade. I guess the drama, Duh.

I can never for the life of me understand why folks are so critical or feel the need or better yet to take the time to weigh in on something that does not affect them. Louuuuu, I really do appreciate you taking the time to respond...I am just not real sure I understand why you did. I have heard of more than a few girls that do this in there spare time, and with my DD playing travel ball, being in the marching band, and being a 4.0 student she really does not have the time to hold down a regular part time job. I put this out there as an alternative for single moms whose daughters have maybe gotten a little too fast or whose pitches move a little too much for it to continue to be safe to catch them, or maybe a girl who has a dad who travels, etc. I think the point you make for not doing it is one of the best reasons to do it, if a parent is already paying $40 or $50 per hour for instruction, what is another $10 to have a catcher there. Not trying to gouge anyone here, just offering a service while trying to get my DD a little extra catching experience and a little walking around money too. Never ceases to amaze me how people can put a negative spin on something that has no negativity attached it whatsoever.
