I am interested to see if central ohio (I270) community softball programs would be interested in putting together teams to play in an 8U community select pitching machine league as part of the I270 League.
As Director of Select Softball for Olentangy Youth Athletic Association, we have had at least one (often times 2) 8U select teams in the Worthington Sunday Machine Pitch League since it was founded 4 years ago.
However, the limitation of the Worthington league is it only plays on Sundays which causes two things: 1) not enough games 2) conflicts with older sibblings who play tournament softball.
What I would like to start is an 8U division in the I270 league (either M/W and T/TH). The league could either be pitching machine-based or tournament-style coach pitch. Either way, it would allow communities to give the players that want better instruction and to play more competitively the opportunity to do so. It also prepares players to move into the 10u Select programs that almost every community has.
What does everyone think? Anyone interested?
