Central Ohio I270 League - Coaches Meeting 1/16/2010

The 2010 meeting for the Central Ohio I270 Softball League will be held on January 16, 2010 at Noon. The meeting will be held in the Olentangy High School commons area outside the main gymnasium - 675 Lewis Center Road, Lewis Center, OH 43035.

NEW LOCATION - Worthington Rec Center, 345 East Wilson Bridge Rd, Worthington Ohio

All coaches/team administrators interested in participating in the 2010 league should plan to attend.

The I270 League serves players ages 10U, 12U and 14U living in the Columbus and surrounding areas (communities inside and outside of I270).

The league follows a 2 night per week format.

The league (10 nights, double headers) is aimed at community select and local travel teams. It is intended to be competitive yet still developmental (especially at the younger ages). Teams are typically grouped based on 'a' (T/TH) and 'b' skill levels (M/W).

If there is enough interest at each age group we will also offer a
1 night per week league (5 nights, double headers). The 1 night per week league would target 'club' teams who want to get an extra couple of games in per week in prep for weekend tournaments. This league format would be highly competitive.

The league fees will be $180 ($90 for 1 night if offered). Availability will be on a first come first serve basis and acceptance will be based on receipt of fees. Teams can make checks to I270 League and pay at the meeting.

Spoke to Dan Adkins - Umpire Coordinator, he told me the umpire fees would remain $30/game ($60 per DH). Dan and Tim Beard are expected to be at the coaches meeting to answer questions on behalf of Umpires and Columbus ASA.

Just curious if any other 10U coaches would be interested in doing the one night a week club league. Apparently there hasn't been enough interest in years past at 10U.

We would be interested, but at the same time don't want to commit to two nights a week with our planned tournament schedule. Post or pm me your thoughts. Thanks.

I am interested in a 10U one night a week league. How much interest has there been for this? We will be coming from the Marysville area, so two nights a week will be too much for us.
