14u player has had a couple of offers, still can go back to previous team. She is really isn't sure where she wants to play. Should she hold out till after tryouts and hope for a team or take an offer? Just wondering.

Is she waiting on an offer from a team? If not go where you feel most comfortable. Waiting to long can result in you being left out in the cold and scrambling to find a team.

Here's a secret I'm going to let you in on, I figured it out a coupla years ago. This year tryouts started sometime August 1st and they run until around July 31st of 2015.

As stated above, you can always find a team any time of the year.

While I think the two posts above are correct, you can always find 'A' team. I'm not always sure you can find 'THE' team. If she's been offered a position on a 'elite' team/organization and she's dragging her feet, unless she's one of the top players in the state, they aren't going to wait forever for her; there are other girls who are jumping to fill those positions.

Also, I wouldn't just let her pick a team because it's an 'elite' team/organization; I've seen several girls over the last couple of years go to such an organization and then realize the atmosphere of those teams aren't what they are looking for.

Right over here!
Mrsmss- Nice post. Totally agree.. Be careful and look for fit! Make a list as to what is important to you and sit down with DD and make a decision on what is most important. There is good and bad EVERYWHERE!

Im sure its a hard decision because even teams that lose every game attach "gold" or "elite" to their name. Look at tournaments, and/or simply ask around about the team.

Totally agree with the above posts... definitely right on point. My thoughts though were that your DD has at least 2 offers (plus can go back to her previous team) and based on what you wrote you guys don't seem excited by that? Maybe I am just reading more into it, but it seems like you guys should take a second look at who you are trying out for. If the offers came from teams she isn't excited about, I don't think I would have spent my time attending their tryouts.

An elite team always has room for that special elite player. A good team always has room for a player that is an upgrade. Mike Dyer is correct. The problem is some parents think their kid is better than they really are, and in those cases they are the ones that have a problem finding their "right fit". It's really about personal perception more than anything.
