One of our best pitchers played us a voice mail (her mom) from a coach wanting her daughter to jump ship.......
some points he was making:
- she is one of 3 pitchers on that team, on our team she will be the true number 1
- with her on our team we will be much better than her current team
BLAH BLAH BLAh.........
Another guy brought his daughter to a private tryout with our team and the day before had sent one of our other pitchers parents an email wanting them to jump ship to their team..............
All you can do is grin and move on. It used to make us very ****ed but it is a compliment and also you can not control or allow others actions to dictate how you act or operate.
BUT I am beginning to think we need to do more in-season invites for next years tryouts. I just feel kind of slimy recruiting girls period. I would prefer we get girls at our open tryouts and move on.
