I have no problem rooting for the other Big 10 Teams when they are playing someone other than the Buckeyes. However, you say "Go Big 10!" that way you don't have to mention the team up north by name. ;)

Michigan should have a strong team again this season. My daughter attended several of their clinics this winter and they had pretty much the whole squad working with the girls. Their main strength is in their coaching staff. The hardest part of it for her was at the end, when all the girls had to huddle up and shout "Go Blue!". Anyone else know where you can attend a hitting clinic with a national championship team for only $35.00?

hockey man, we had three kids attend the hitting camp you referred to and they came back and raved about it the next day at practice!!! 10 kids on our team signed up for the summer week-long camp!!!
The coaches at UM DO make a difference

Back at you bigtrain. My daughter who is a lifetime buckeye, had such a great experience there that she wore her Michigan Softball shirt to school the next week and that takes guts when you live only a mile and a half from OSU. I don't mean it to be a brag, but using the techniques they taught helped her get a triple in our opening scrimmage today.

The coaching at UM is without a doubt the best in the Midwest. My middle daughter's (14) game was boosted by Brundage's tutelage at the week-long camp last summer. She highly recommends the week in less-than-lovely Ann Arbor!!!!

I don't want to sound like a Michigan fan club since I am hockeyeBUCKEYE, but when your head coach is the all time winningest coach for all sports at the university and your assistant coaches playing accomplishments is a list a mile long including national championships and gold medals. Well, that sounds pretty top shelf to me.

Hutch also was an assistant on the 1980 Indiana Hoosiers team that (as amazing as it seems in today's softball world!!!) finished second in the College World Series that year!!!! She was a go-getter then!! My sister enjoyed playing for her then. BTW, Iowa coach Gayle Blevins was the head coach of that Hoosiers team.
Hutch then went north and founded the UM program.
Also, simply possessing a gold medal doesn't make you a great coach. Brundage, however, has more than proven herself. The amazing part is, she was primarily a pitcher until she went to UCLA. She handles UM's pitchers and Ritter's meteoric rise is due in a large part to her work.

That looked more like a game of "HomeRun Derby". ?What happened to smallball and the fastpitch game we all play. ?Is it now dead?

Is it all about the long ball now.

Only saw two bats being utilized.

Catalyst "Blue" by Michigan
Synergy by UCLA at "Easton Field"

Have the bat companies taken over this game?

Neither pitcher was that sharp. As Lisa Fernandez said they didn't change speeds enough to keep the batters guessing and left too many pitches over the meat of the plate. Hitters on those teams are just too good to make that many mistakes. Look at what Japan did to the USA when they beat them with a pitcher who had a tremendous changeup.

We love to watch fastpitch on tv, I just wish someone would do play by play. It seems that you only get the color commentary. I did not hear the the type of pitch very often, the count, very little play by play. I know that being on tv you can see things for yourself but you cant always tell what the pitch is or where its location is because of the centerfield camera angle.
