Not pulling for Florida or the SEC, but that ump last night was giving the pitcher 3-5 inches, sometimes more, off the corner all night long. I have watched games before that she has done and it was the same thing. She is consistent. But it does make it awfully difficult on hitters when the ump is calling pitches that are almost unhittable a strike. If the batter tries to adjust, then the pitch will bust her inside and make the hitter look silly.
I have a problem with the inconsistency from one ump to the next. Last nights ump had a wide strike zone, but several games this weekend, the ump made the pitcher put it on a tee. Look at some of the high scoring games and all the HR's. I know they are great hitters, but if the pitcher has to groove it, it makes it easier to hit. The strike zone isn't supposed to be a moving target. It shouldn't be so difficult to acheive some consistency from one ump to the next.
