I know there is a little bit of an Ohio Vs Michigan thing going on here, especially with the way some outstanding Ohio teams have been inexplicably rejected by Compuware. However, I hope the Laser Gold tournament is a different weekend next year. Would like to do both tournaments. Lasers have the potential to attract a lot of interest and develop into a "classic," very quickly. Kudos to Laser Nation for pulling it together.

Looking at those lists, without counting things up, it seems to me they've tried to take a lot fewer Ohio teams than in the past to try to balance the geography. I can remember just a few years ago at 16-U and 18-U playing the entire tournament and having maybe one game against a non-Ohio team.

5 - 6 years ago it was Indiana vs. Ohio on Sunday, and Mich. teams were not that strong. Looks like a lot of those dominant Indy and Ohio matchups are still happening. More like Buckeyes vs. Hoosiers.

Compuware was one of my favorite tourneys of last year, but at 14U(which is all I am looking at) there is no comparison, Lasers tourney hands down. If Compuware and the Lasers tourney are on different weekends next year, we will apply for Compuware again. If same weekend, we will just apply for Lasers tourney.

The only issue I see at Laser tourney is TD experience and disposition .
The true test will be when the first parent/coach starts yelling.

It appears to me that Lasers is superior at 12-U and 14-U and Compuware at 18-U. Not sure about 16s. It will be interesting to see whether the teams at 12-U and 14-U, as well as some of the other top teams from bordering states not at either tourney, end up with the Lasers tourney as they get older or move over to Compuware's.
