Compuware vs Laser Gold

Just my humble opinion here

12u--Laser's- have Michigan's #1 ranked team and the one of the best teams in the USA in #1 ranked team Fury 97-Tenn. along with West Virginia, Indiana's and Ohio #1 ranked teams.

Which of the two Michigan teams are considered the #1, and which of the two Indiana teams is #1? As far as that goes, which team is considered Ohio's #1 12U?

No matter what, I'd say it's safe to say that there will be a lot of great 12U games played at the Lasers tournament. You would be hard pressed to find another tournament in this region with the collective talent of this group of 12U teams.

Merlion you are correct there. I would like to know his number ones as well. You guys would have to be one choice I would think. Goodluck to you at this tourney, I am sure you will do very well.

I think it is too early to call anyone in 12u Numero Uno, there are a lot of good teams, but this will take a little time to sort out. I know many people have mentioned Ohio Ice as being at or near the top and they are in Compuware, as are some other good teams from Ohio. Danger, I am sorry to hear you did not get in the Lasers tournament, I have not seen you guys play, but I have heard very good things about your team. This Laser tournament clearly has a very good 12u field, but I think the Compuware field for 12u will be very competitive as well.

Okay before anyone goes of the deep end here this is one persons opinion, in the first line it says that, it's not that of the Laser nation!@!

However let me back up some of what was said and clarify some that is being mis-stated:

10-0u - Agreed since Compuware has no 10u

12u- The Fury 97 as an 11u team last year placed 5th at NSA 'A' World Series last year beating the Indy blast 96 which is problaby the favorite at Compuware in the 14u age group. The W.V. TNT team at 12u I would agree is probably the #1, as far as Michigan if you go to their website which I am guessing is same site Coop look at they have a coaches poll like ours and Michigan Mustangs ( now called Mich. Athlectics ) got every single #1 vote and team Michigan is rank 2nd or 3rd. Now I have to correct BUCKFP as I dont see anywhere on anyones posts that at 12u mention any Pennsylvania teams, at 14u yes but not 12u.Now for Ohio I would have to say we have several of ohios top 5 teams but agree who knows which team is #1 right now.

at 14u - I have to agree with Jemiii ,Coop and others when you have teams Like Doom 95, CHI-Town Xpress, Pitts. Predators, The older Pitts. Roadrunners-Blue, Mich. Blast ,Louisville Stunners,Pitts. Power and TNT(WV) , EMR and All of the Ohio Teams and other 95 teams and Compare that Compuware's Team it favors Lasers by alot.

at 16u- Both Tournaments have some great teams ,by my Bias opinion is we have very few 15u and no 14u teams and some real Elite 16u teams and Compuware does have alot of younger teams , I wil have to defer to Akadema on whether some of the Indiana Teams are 'B' teams or Community Travel teams.

At 18u I have to give the overall to Compuware based on sheer numbers but again we have very few if any 17u teams and no 16u teams playing up in ours again does Compuware have alot of 'B' Indiana and Michigan Teams I will again defer to Akedema and Others.

To answer Socermoms questions ($595 fee with no refund) and we announced our tournament a little late this past year for the 16u laser Teams .

I've got one playing in the Lasers Gold tournament and one playing in Compuware. I think the bottom line for the Lasers Gold tournament is to keep the field strong year after year. If they do, then the college coaches will come. If the college coaches come, then this will be the tournament to attend for all age groups. My wife refered to the number of coaches at Compuware last year as, "There were so many they were running into each other." I'm sure with the team draw that the Lasers Gold tournament has developed, they will have a good amount of college coaches.

I'm glad my 13 year old is at the Lasers Gold tournament, but I'm also glad my 16 year old is at Compuware. I hope the Lasers Gold tournament can become the event that draws tons of college coaches for the older groups, and it may even this year. I happen to know one college we spoke with is sending coaches to both. But if previous years are any indication, and exposure is what you're looking for, Compuware is the safest bet for my 16 year old...at least this year!

One last thing, I don't know who the tournament director is at Compuware, but they have to be better than Lasers Gold! :) (Bruce you had to know that was coming!)

Okay, of course I'm just kidding. Bruce has done a heck of a job!

But that is how you grow a tournament. You start with the studs in the younger age group and they will keep coming back. 16's and 18's are such a **** shoot anyway. Good job.

bambam8, thank you for the comment. I was contacted and asked if we wanted to play yesterday because a team dropped out evidentally and I turned down the offer because we have already paid for our tournaments scheduled and asking for money back after already paid and getting it back can be tough. So maybe we will see ya there next year. Goodluck to all and thanks for the second offer laser nation.

(16-u - While Compuware has a few more teams, they have at least 2 -14u teams and about 15 -15u teams along with some very weak Michigan and Indiana Community travel teams. Laser's has very few 15u teams and some high powered 16u teams from several States.)

Wow,massive amounts of Ohio Koolaid being consumed here! I can say we have been to Compuware 4 previous years and comparing 16u fields I would have to say overall the field looks to be much stronger at Compuware. Have you really compared the 16U teams in both tournaments? With that being said,it is February and nothing has been proven yet. Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
