Does a pitcher have to take the signal from the catcher on the mound or can she be standing behind the mound and take signal? If she has to be on the mound and is not, what is the call?
Pitcher can take the signal from anyone and anywhere. If they have the signal before getting in position on the pitcher's plate, the rules say they have to simulate taking the sign (i.e. pause) after getting on the plate.
