THE PARENT / COACH RELATIONSHIP

Discussing the role of the parent. Involvement versus interference. Recognizing a helicopter parent and how to handle them. Adjusting to different coaching styles.

LEARNING HOW TO PITCH
2:15-3:00
Be sure to wear your tennis shoes as you will experience the learning process that your pitchers are going through. There will be a question and answer segment during this session.

PHYSICAL TRAINING FOR A SUCCESSFUL PITCHER
10:30-11:15
Guest speaker Personal Trainer Kris Lewandoski will discuss the importance of physical training for pitchers:
 when to start a training program,
 exercises to prevent injury
 how to increase speed and explosiveness.

MENTAL GAME
12:45-1:15
This session will focus on the mental game.

PREPARING FOR COLLEGE
12:00-12:45
Guest speaker Sheila Gulas, head coach at Ashland University will share her insight into what college coaches look for in potential pitchers.

GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR PITCHER
1:15-1:45
Drills, drills, and more drills. We will give tips and training tech-niques that will be used during the different training seasons. In addition, this session will help you run a more effective pitching practice.

Just got back from this clinic. Truly an awesome clinic! Very professional with an excellent line up of speakers. Two thumbs up for this one! Great food too. For $50, what a deal.

Dave and Amie did a great job organizing and running this cinic. If they have more in the future they should be marked down as a "must do" for anyone wanting information that can be used to help their pitchers. [Also, there were lots of good ideas about coaching philosophy in general.]
