HS season here in CIF Southern Section wrapped up last weekend with championship finals.

Div 1: #6 Pacifica over #14 ML King 1-0 in 12 innings (no ITB).
Div 2: #1 Mission Viejo over #21 Chino 1-0 in 9 innings (no ITB).

Mission Viejo went 2-1 against Pacifica by winning twice in strong early season tournaments (5-0 and 5-2) and losing 1-2 in 9 inn just before the playoffs. MV also beat Chino in an early season tourney 4-0.

Pacifica's other 2 losses were to previously highly-ranked Esperanza 2-0 and #42 Cypress 2-0 (Pacifica beat Cypress 5-1 in league rematch). Pacifica's tie was with #21 Chino 3-3 (8 inn.) in a doubleheader (won other game 4-2).

Mission Viejo and Pacifica will both be strong again next year. MV has their top 2 players returning, pitcher Taylor McQuillin and power hitter Alyssa Palomino. Pacifica is coached by Mark Campbell, whom is one of the top travel ball coaches in the country.
