Faith-based Fastpitch

You don't mention your specific religion, so I'm not sure if this applies, but if you are Catholic have you checked out CYO for your younger daughter? CYO starts and finishes every game with a prayer. Plus the coaches are encouraged to share their faith with the players. I coach a CYO girls team and during Lent we go to Stations of the Cross together after every Friday practice and then go to the Soup Supper that follows. Not every family goes to church regularly (all you have to do is belong to a parish to play) so I think it is nice for a few of the players to have more exposure to prayer and people living out their faith because of the team. While I am sure several girls come on Fridays more because the supper is fun, they are still there and good things can happen. It is also important for kids to see that they are not weird or unusual if they are strong in their faith. In some areas the bias against religion is pretty strong that kids might feel alone when they go off to college if they aren't confident in their beliefs and be comforted knowing a lot of people share the same ones.

Based upon what I am reading on here, it would seem that someone could put together a nice organization that would garner some interest.

I coach a 16u team and have for several years. My purpose for getting into coaching was to provide my players with a chance to "worship" on sundays when they have to make a choice to play tournaments. I provide a devotion for players and parents. They are told this from the beginning and have not had a problem. It is all voluntary.
