Congratulations to the Our Lady of the Elms players and coaches. Good luck tomorrow in the finals.

A BIG thumbs down to the Our Lady of the Elms "fan" who felt the need to yell "COWARD" several times at the Crestline pitcher in the 7th inning when she didn't give Kaitlin Morse much to hit. She's a kid, you idiot. Not giving a hitter like Morse anything to hit is called good strategy, not being a coward.

Not the right thing to yell, but maybe it was directed at the coach and not the pitcher.

Either way, it was classless. Every fan who heard it believed it to be directed at the pitcher. Either way, does it really matter?

Some "fans" seem to not recognize the differences in appropriate behavior at youth vs. professional athletic contests.

It doesn't matter to whom it was directed. Just bush. The word "coward" has so many adverse moral implications when all this was about was strategy in a really important game. It would have been nice if an A.D. had been in attendance and had escorted this fan away from the game. JMHO.

Yes, that is big time bush. The coach of that idiots daughter should have told him to keep his mouth shut at games or not be allowed to attend. Player off team as last resort if that doesn't work. It's my opinion the coaches need to start taking control of their fan behavior. Get a strict spectate only policy. I would guess AD's are rarely in attendance.

I said it was not right and yes, I do think there is a difference between an adult directing comments toward a child vs. another adult. And by the way, when dd's team played Walsh Jesuit in the Akron D2 District Final, there were intentional walks going both ways and many boos and fans yelling "who knows what" directed at "who knows who". Have a great day.

No offense, but if that moron was a fan of my team I would have asked him to leave, I don't need to be the coach or an AD. I have told people to be quiet before and I have no problem telling an adult acting like a child to act like an adult or leave, the only authority I need is common sense and my Clint Eastwood stare! :O)

first of all, the coach of the elms may not have heard it,as the dugouts have a wall and he was paying attention to the game, second of all comments were heard from the crestline side of things too, but the best thing is the elms players have nothing but respect for the young lady pitching, read some of the quotes from the girl who was intentionally walked, dont let one stupid comment detract from either side, that was a very exciting game from start to finish, and the girls from both teams NEVER GAVE UP, thats what should be talked about,i will bet crestline will be back in same game next year.nice job to both teams

Is "Our Lady of the Elms" a one shot wonder? I've heard of the school but know they were not very good in basketball. Or do they have a good class that's moving up? Don't recall them in softball from previous years (but I hate to admit, I don't follow D-4 much, even though it's great softball).

This is a case of parents on both sides being way too sensitive. This is not something I would advocate saying, but the people posting here are far more sensitive than the players out there playing the game. There are all kinds of crazy things said during a game, particularly to umpires and coaches, and no one cares. The person who yelled it is the one who made a fool of themselves anyway- didn't that walk end up being the winning run? And to expect a coach involved in a 0-0 game in the regionals to come out of a dugout and find some parent is just ridiculous. Shouldn't he be paying attention to the game and not the fans?

My dd was pitched around and intentionally walked more times than I care to count this season (including seeing 1 strike in 3 AB in her last tournament game) and although I wished she had the chance to hit in those situations that is not something to get upset about. She is also the catcher who would call the game and she would pitch around the other teams big hitters many times. This is a legitimate strategy. Someone who yells or makes all kind of racket about it is only making a fool of themselves. Why draw any more attention to it by making a federal case out of it?

Everyone should just be real and enjoy the game and quit finding stuff to be offended by.

yeah because we see so many times a coach telling fans to quiet down, you dont follow d4 to much and your going to make a one shot wonder crack, follow it some more then decide on your own, and the basketball team won districts, softball team won its league 2 years ago, its a very small d4 team all girls school,10 girls om the team, i know some of you great coaches out there could do much better, let the kids enjoy it, and live in your own bitterness, this team has been taught from day 1 no negative things to be said about their team the other team, parents, coaches, umps, school adminastration, to bad adults cant learn that
