Hi, I'm asking for any input on any fund raising any of you have been involved with that was successful. We have done the usual such as candy bars, Christmas wrapping sales, etc., we're looking into more profitable ideas. We already know Bingo can be profitable, just looking for anything we haven't thought of yet. Thank you in advance...

Reverse raffle, Night at the Races, Casino or Poker event, Spaghetti Dinners. Dances have been mentioned in other messages. Pick 3 lotto game. Raffle a prize such as a TV or iPad if you have the initial funds. Maximize events by raffling off additional prizes, gift baskets, 50/50 raffles. If you could host a tournament you could stand to see revenue from concessions, vendors and / or parking. A number of restaurants offer a charity night and split revenue with you.

Good luck

Are you a non-profit organization...501c3? If so, the Kroger Rewards card is a super easy way to raise funds by just having your members shop at Kroger and use their rewards cards. In a nutshell, your organization gets 4% of whatever your members load onto their Kroger rewards cards once you reach the minimum of $5000.00 loaded. And, really, you don't even need a huge organization to get to $5000.00 loaded if your members shop and buy fuel at Kroger often. So, basically, you make $200 each time your group loads a total of $5000.00.

We used to do a big NCAA Pool for march maddness but it became a pain. The last 2 years we have had a Hog Raffle. We found a farm that donates a hog for us, we pay $200 to have it processed and give away 2 prizes of a 1/2 hog. We back into how many tickets we need to sell and they fly out the door. For $10 you have a chance to win over 100 pounds of pork. We found in this economy everyone is willing to take a chance. By the way since we are a 501c the farmer gets to deduct the value of the hog at current market prices.

Biggest fundraiser I've seen is a 'Wheelbarrow of booze'. :D

Seriously, though, we had the team parents donate liquor, beer and party favors, put it in a wheelbarrow, sell tickets 1 for 5 dollars or 3 for 10 dollars and raied close to 2g's.

Fundraising is a bear. With the economy the way it is, its tough to get sponsors. It seems like people are more willing to part with a small amount of money (ie: candy bars, 50/50, raffles) than with bigger, more costlier items (ie: coupon books).

Kroger is a good one...it's too bad there is one organization that won't return the money to the rightful players that have gone on to play with other teams.
