What are you hoping to accomplish when you have your batter drag bunt?

What is your process of thinking and game strategy, when asking your batter to drag bunt?

Would you drag bunt in the 7th inning with your team behind by 3 runs, no outs and a base runner at 3rd base and your number #3 hitter is next to bat?
