I saw the gun on Sunday almost every pitch that was thrown in the winner's bracket final and she hit 53-54 consistently. The highest pitch I seen was 55mph. I wish I could have seen a gun on the Pitts lady RR pitcher cuz she was bringing it too!

55mph.....60mph.......it doesn't really matter cuz once I tell people girls at 10u are throwing in the mid 50's they don't believe me anyway....lol....it's a beautiful thing when the non-believers see it for themselves.

LOL ... I was standing on 3rd during our game with them thinking "Good Lord just don't let her plunk one of my small girls - it might drive her to the backstop ...."

Dear Ringer... Wasn't dad's gun. Dad was watching gold play. Dad does not own a gun. Permit was revoked! As for the Hawks coach. Wasn't first time unit has gotten out. Unit called me after she saw your post today and was shocked to see that with her name in it. Will work on changeups just for you.

I've seen her throw 3 times this year and I'm still a non-believer of the 60. However, I will say that she is the hardest throwing 10U pitcher I've seen in a long time since Erin ??? from the Indy Thunder when she was 10 and some little blond girl from the Emeralds of about 5 years ago.

... we sure were not going to feed her anything down the middle ... seen what she does with that fastball or change-up.

Doug - thanks for the props and the high five you gave me on your way to coach third on what ended up being the final inning along with the quote "this is what it's all about" couldn't be more true. Very competitve game with great sportsmanship...can't ask for more at any level.

Ohio Ice - I was shocked to not see you Sunday morning! I would like to hear that story in a PM. We definitely brought a different set a bats Saturday than we did when we faced you in Columbus.

As for the Unit...whatever her speed may be is incredible to 10U. 60 would not shock me. As for the girls (Nitro and other) that are hitting off of her from 35 feet, that's incredible too. I was talking to a D1 coach Sunday that was very impressed by the skill level at 10U.

Jeff, I meant it ... it was a great game and we got lucky to win it. While we are talking sportsmenship - I want to let everyone know that my comments earlier about pitching around a laser player was not meant in any way to disrespect her. She is a great talent and we respected her as a hitter so much that we decided to walk her, until the last AB when we were down 7-0. It was the very opposite - it was intended to be a compliment - same for her pitching, I have done nothing but compliment her on that.

So, I apologize to her and her family for the way it appeared. We were very happy to have played both the Nitro and Lasers and not get run ruled... they are both at a level we hope to reach.

speaking of hard throwers in 10u. I think the Casey from the Lady RR throws the fastest we have seen this year. Followed by Arissa from the Lasers and Alyssa from the Jaguars. All three of them flat out bring the heat. I think 60mph is bit of a stretch though. I think 53-56mph is more like it.
