Girl's Softball Bats, Fastpitch Bats - best bargain or money doesn't matter.

We talk allot about Girls Softball bats on the forum, or at least we did before the great crash of 2014.

Questions to the forum.

1.) If money didn't matter, what brand name bats would you buy for your daughter or teams?

2.) What's the best bargain brand name bat on the market?

3.) What brand name bat in girls fastpitch softball is the must have bat?

4.) Question for Hitting instructors, what the correct or best method for picking the right bat?

5.) What are some myth about Girls Fastpitch Softball Bats?

1) We had the CF6 & Mako last year. Mako swung heavier than the CF6 and my dd hated it so the Mako stayed in the bag... Found a smokin deal on a new 2014 Xeno and my dd has been swinging it for about a week now and she really likes it. Maybe its the sound it makes, idk.. The Xeno tends to be admired most on my team as well as several other teams in our ORG. MOST bats are priced relatively the same so when looking at a top line bat, money should not be the issue.

3) "All of them" says my DD... " How will I know what I like unless I have them all?"

I have to echo snoman76 about the Xenos. My daughter still has her 2011 Xeno that I bought used 2 years ago & after 8 hrs in middle school league there were parents linging up to ask about it. Granted it is not all about the bat, but you can't argue with suceess! This year she was swinging the 2014 Xeno and hit 10hrs including 2 Grand Slams. Love that sound! You could be blind and still know when she gets it all !!!

As far as the brand goes, my daughter loved Demarini for two years (vendetta, cf6, cf7). The main reason was the weight. They simply swung the lightest of all of the bats.
Then at the end of this summer she got to the point where she felt her bat was just too light. She couldn't really "feel" the bat. When she would drop her bat head she couldn't feel it because it was all so light.
Thank goodness for SPC because she tried out all the bats out right now for about 40 minutes and moved to a Louisville Slugger LXT and moved up an inch and added two ounces.

So I think the lesson is that what works for a year or two might not work the next year. Girls grow an awfully lot (in height, weight and strength) over the 8-10 years (or more/ less) they play softball, so being flexible with brand, etc. is probably a good idea.

Right over here!
Demarini cfwhatever for the younger ones. The weight to lengths can't be beat (drop)! Pop is incredible! The Mako and xeno for the older ones. Yes the 2011 is xenon is still a hot bat!

Never forget the 2005 rocket tech!

cf5 insane and a vendetta. She's back to liking the heavier insane now.
Easton fs3 in the bag, and that's where it has stayed for the last year.
she won't even touch it now.
when she does her part the insane has some good pop in it, as does the vendetta, but the vendetta is Sooooo light....m

We always swung DeMarini. We would always venture out of the box and buy something else only after the word got out whether a certain bat was any good, nothing like being the first to try one and end up having a 300 dollar plus tomato stake.

1.) Miken, Worth, Easton in that order single piece con...
2.) Any manufacturer. I have never paid more than $170 for a bat. I buy blems with a one year warranty.
3.) Louisville Slugger XENO past three years before that Demarini...BYW, Both have a ton of Blems...
4.) Over the years as the player develops and grows in skill, size and strength the bat that they are able to swing will change per their swing style. Most power hitters I have had over the years preferred to swing 34"L and usually -9 drop. I have seen some good slappers using a 34" -12.
The weight, Drop, length, knob design, handle/ grip design, Balanced or loaded, barrel design, and even graphics play a part in some players bat choice.

Over the years I have found a lot of players/parents just see someone or a teammate having success with bat XYZ so, they have mom or dad get one thinking they will have the same results

5. One big myth is CF bats are not as durable as aluminum bats.
