Gonna be a Tough week

That has to be one of the all time dumbest statements I have seen on the OFC. Coaches are watching these kids all winter long and you think that the kid who doesn't show up till 2/22 will not be hurt by not working through the winter. JMHO

No yours just was.
I never said the kids were not working on their skills, What if the girls has been practicing with her tournament team twice a week since fall, plus going to hitting lessons once a week and some other lessons once a week as well like fielding, catching or pitching etc. And she goes to softball camps twice a month. She may need her free day or two to work on her school work. Now you would punish her just because she could not make OPEN GYM. And you would take her over a kid that only worked her butt off for a month at a non coached directed OPEN GYM.

The person I replied to did not once mention the girls talent level good or bad, just stated not being at open gym.

OHSAA rules also state a player playing another sport may not participate in open gym or practices until the current sports season is over...

Ok, how about this?

A girl who has missed every open gym time because it happens to fall on her travel teams practice. Which one should she attend?

I think 12oz curls are a sport.......:)

Len

So, would I be able to enter multiple tournaments? One for hillbilly golf, one for cornhole, and one for 12 oz. curls. Could I conceivably get a first round bye due to my extensive experience with these difficult and challenging activities? Oh, don't forget hotel aquatic acrobatics (That is, getting thrown in the pool after playing the previous three sports). FYI: The women's version is commonly referred to as water ballet (sounds more feminine).

I would do travel team PRACTICE verses OPEN GYM. But that is just me.

Can you tell me where the OHSAA states this? I can't seem to find it.

OHSAA only states that players can not attend non school sports in the same season. Once the first board funded softball scrimmage happens then players are not allowed contact with their travel SB teams. These school SB players can attend volleyball, basketball and other open gyms and compeitions during SB season.
