lol. Actually here in Spokane we get very, very little rain. That's Seattle with the rain. We are a completely different climate. It rains here maybe 1/3rd as much as Ohio. The problem here is snow in December-February and then not getting enough warmer days to melt the snow. We haven't had any accumulation since early January and we still have 6 inches of snow on our field. And our first home game is in 16 days.

We play Saturday on the road, which will be our first time outdoors, and against teams that have been outdoors for 3-4 weeks. I am searching for a place about an hour or so south of here to have an all-day practice next Saturday.

lol. It's hard for now to work up any animosity or anything else against our fellow NWC schools. I pretty much had never heard of any of them until this past year and I have never been to any of them.

It wasn't so hard to have feelings about Hilliard or UA or Gahanna or Westerville or whoever after having grown up in the Columbus area.

Whitworth will be practicing at Thomas Worthington High School next week. We'll just take the week off from school. I'm sure I still have a key to the field laying around somewhere. Maybe I can hit a Blue Jackets game or two if they are at home.

Unfortunately, Joe, they changed the locks to the TWHS field after you left. Besides, I am pretty sure it is not in any shape to practice. DD has been practicing outdoors at college for some time now. Our youngest practiced with a couple of college teams outdoors--both in January.

I'm guessing that Joe is more psyched up for this Saturday than he ever was for some stinkin' legal hearing. :D[/QUOTE]

My wife says the same thing about me when I'm coaching but I don't like to lose in either arena.

Good luck Joe. Streaming video would be great to let girls see what the game looks like at the college level.

Thanks, all. mr. freeze, interesting that your alma mater is Eastern Oregon!

We don't play this weekend, but start up again next weekend. I didn't do an update on this thread because I just put it on my blog.

So they changed the keys at the field? I hope the school isn't going to a policy of "nobody can use the field." That sure as heck isn't how the program was built.

The coach gave out keys to key people, but I think they didn't give as many out. Our dd got one because of the role she was filling during the fall with the team.

That's good. Yes, I guess I gave out keys to about the whole world.

Eric Wedge is really teed off that his key doesn't work anymore.

Actually, Tom G has been great. He stopped by several times in the fall to help out. It was really appreciated.

Being able to see Joe's team play would be great. I hope he will let us all know if video becomes available somewhere.

However, lots of opportunities to see various levels of college softball exist right here in Ohio. DD and I went to the OSU Charity Classic in the fall and watched several teams from different divisions play.

Keep up the good work Joe!
