It is just more no child left behind bull%^&!!! Remember we are all the same. Don't want anyone to feel bad.

Can't you keep these types of quotes to the Politics Page? There is a reason the Admins created that inbox.

thanks

Definitely no standardization from school to school. I pity the poor transfer student. Surely some federal group will get ahold of the grading scales soon and standardize them.

in a way, this post reminds of the Post/thread last year about the boy that couldn't be a pitcher in his local baseball league because he was toooo good although in his proper age group... and in that thread someone replied about saying you can't use "red" ink anymore to grade papers and how PC everthing has become.

It appears that "thick skin" hasn't been passed down from the baby boomer generation (in general) and we've become a "sweep Johnie's short comings under the rug"... this falls in line with s0kker games not keeping score. PLEASE, this is crazy!!!!

The school systems should be on the same grade scale regardless of grade/district/self-serving reason. That's life, whether we like it or not, LIFE is about survival, and if we don't level with students early on and point out that they need help.... what are we becoming? Just like the lil' boy that worked hard to be a great pitcher and now he's being punished----WHAT IS THAT???? We standardize on mph, inches, weights, shoe sizes (almost) and many other "measurable" metrics but skip out on the areas where we can actually improve upon with a little more work and honesty! Wow!

Stat that is the most frustrating thing for me it is presented as standardized grading and to me it appears more subjective than ever.

So when are their feelings hurt when they can't get into college or when they can't get a job. But Mr.HR I ave been an M student all my life . It is a joke.

You can run but you can't hide from the fact that te reason for "subjective" grading is to eliminate bad grades. My mother has taught for 28 years and with this new system everything is subjective. No test grades at all. If a parent complains the child is given an M and thats the end of it. Nobody wants to accept the fact that their child is a C student anymore. Soon you will just have to attend school and that will be it. Just another example of the dumbing down of America in the name of political correctness.

my worry, is that in my school system, there arent enough parents saying anything about how it really doesn't offer any real alternatives or reason for 1-4...i originally thought the report card would b more complex...as in, your student mastered "cause and effect" concepts but struggled with "summarization"...not like that..it gets grouped into sub headings that are so vague...
when i first started teaching, we did have a-f, 3rd and lower recieved O's and S's, and the only trouble we had was new 4th grade parents realizing an S was anything from a C to a B. S's dont cut it to make honor roll. now, everyone makes it ....
