having never been and coming for the first time, are the games at "the Academy" at 615 riffle? I suppose there are outdoor fields next to your facility, like the set-up at youngstown?

delcruz the games this coming weekend are not at The Academy. That is our indoor training facility and we do play there in the winter but the diamonds are located on the other side of Greenville at the Stebbins Field Complex. In addition a few games will be played at the Greenville high school diamond on saturday.

The directions are on our website www.ohiowave.com and they have also been sent to each coach.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend.

The pool schedules have been revised slightly for each age group.

We ha one 14U team and one 10U drop out for various reasons and we had to adjust accourdingly.

Please check them, and the coaches have been sent revised scedules as well via e-mail.

Looks like we will have a nice weekend weather wise, looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Rich,
I assume that the bracket play will begin on Saturday afternoon, after seeding, is that correct? Is it likely that teams will only play one bracket game on Saturday, or could you play two? Just curious.

Thanks,
Corina

Corina you are correct. Bracket play will begin for everyone on Saturday afternoon, an some seeds will only play one game while others may end up playing a few. The bracket will be in your packet and up on the concession stand.

By the way, the diamonds are in great shape, and the weather looks perfect tommorrow. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Thanks for the info. Rich. Probably won't see you until the afternoon as John and I will both be with the HS team in Kettering for the District game. Go CLIMBERS!
Glad to hear the fields are looking great and the weather certainly will be excellent for playing ball! Like Goldilocks said, "Not too hot, not too cold....just right!" ;D

Catch you at the fields,
Corina

Great tournament always is, weather was a little on the cool side early and late, but no rain yea!!
5 games in one day was a lot, but the girls had a blast.
Let us know who got the mvp trophies, It was hard to vote had to put down some girls positions didn't get their #. forgot to fill one out for last 2 games. but neat idea girls wanted to know who got them.

sfarley thank you for the kind comments. We think that everything went pretty well. Stayed on time for the most part, and the weather definately cooperated.

We do this 100% with volunteers and they worked the tails off. The facility (Stebbins Field) is owned by the Greenvillle Girls Softball Assoc. and this is big fundraiser for them. Nearly 400 kids participate in the summer leagues there and they are continually working to improve the facility.

As far as the MVP trophies are concerned I will tell you what I know. The rest I will have to comfirm with the other age groups, I was not present at all of the presentations.

12U

Defensive MVP: Pagie Wolter Ohio Wave (Catcher)

Offensive MVP: Courtney Moore ( Ohio Heat Fury)

Outstanding Pitcher Award: Erija Nealeigh (Ohio Wave)
Erija was 3-0 for the tournament with a no hitter, a 2 hitter and a gutsy 8 inning performance in the Championship game.

All of the winners in the 12U were worthy.

The tournament results were already listed on the thread that was started on the General board. Pool results are anyones guess. Once the tournament was seeded I had no more need for the score sheets.

maybe some of the teams can post thier results on here if they so desire.

I would like to personnaly thank the gentleman, sorry do not remember your name, for the kind comments after the championship game. I do let the girls know what is said and I believe it goes a long way.

I also would like to thank all the coaches, players and parents from the other teams as well as for the season is started and I wish everyone the best. Everyone had great attitudes and the spotsmanship was awesome from all.

J.D. of the Ridgerunners, did not mean anything bad after our first game, just a coaching situation that I felt went wrong at the time. You have a nice team and coaching staff and I wish you well the rest of the year. I am sure we will see each other many more times. Goodluck to you.

Rich and Erin, it feels like your team and you are becoming family. Played each other 6 times already this early in the year is incredible. Your whole group is great, kids, coaches, parents. I always look forward to our games, knowing it will be a nail biter every time, it just seems that my nails are always shorter than yours at the end. Win or lose our teams do deserve whatever they get for all the hard work that has taken place over the winter. Always look to play you deep into Sundays and the next time your nails are coming off - LOL. Wonderful team you have and as always the best of luck to you.

GOODLUCK TO ALL - THE SEASON HAS OFFICIALLY KICKED OFF

Paul we enjoy playing you guys as well. I have no doubt that we will see eachother again before the year is out. Actually we better because Cora is dieing to get on the field in one of those games. I am sure it was tough to be her this weekend. We really miss her right now, both offensivly and defensivly.

By the way, we are working on making the future games vs you guys less of a nail biter. :) Have to find a way to generate a few more runs.

See you guys in a few weeks at Beavercreek.

Great Tournamnet. I see individual awards for the 12U division, what about the other ages. I watched 10U and saw some outstanding young players.

low-n-away I answered this in another thread where you asked the same question. All age groups had these individual MVP awards and the 10U will as well. Unfortunately we misplaced the voting sheets for the 10U age group (actually they got packed away with some other stuff as we were wrapping things up late sunday) but we have found them and the teams and players will be notified. We will send these awards to the coaches of those teams.

The awards themselves were very kool, they were hand made miniture bats with the tournament name, and award name listed on them. The players that have already recieved them really liked them. I wish we could have handed out more because there were plenty of worthy players.
