A wise man once said, "Sometimes times you eat the bar, and sometimes, well, he eats you." It was a bittersweet weekend for us. We didn't get to play one of our pool games on Saturday due to a team dropping out and then got to only play one game on Sunday due to the rain. However, we did play very well and win both our games. I heard they were going to do a coin flip to decide order of finish but. There were four teams left in the 16U bracket, Cincy Storm and us up top and I don't know who was in the lower half. Either way, in my mind it ended with four winners. It sukks, but boy did it rain.

Mike... your girls did play really well over the weekend. You have to be proud of them for how they competed playing up a level!
It did end up coming down to coin flips and that is what made us so sick... we would much have rather watched it play out on the field. There were a lot of really good teams still in the running and some great softball being played when the rain came.
But, man are you right, did it rain!

Chris,John, and the young lady at the check in table. Thank you for a very well run tournament. You guys put alot of thought and good old fashion sweat into this tournament. This was our first tournament with you and trust me we will be back. Can you post the final standings? Dont change your dates and we will see you next year. Ralph Miller

Overall I enjoyed the tourney.....I do think for next year you should put something into place to eliminate all arguments if tourney cant be finished due to rain etc....Coin flip/hat drawing is just so brutal. Is there an overall concrete way all ASA tourneys decide tournaments if rained out? Or is it always up to tourney Director? It was going to be tough to please everyone under that shelter house yesterday, however maybe if we all knew ahead of time the criteria it would have gone smoother. I thought all the coaches handled everything pretty well. Thanks for having us! My daughter loved the corn on the cob.

Cant believe how hard it rained!

Sting you are correct. It was tough yesterday and we knew we were not going to be able to please everyone. We would have much rather seen it settled on the field.
We were on the phone with our ASA commissioner asking how to settle things because it was maybe the one thing we had not actually hammered out and put in the rules. It is something that we will revisit and figure out how we are going to word things and put in place after further discussion with ASA and it will be in the rules next time.
You have a very nice team. Good luck the rest of the season.

Glad your daughter enjoyed the corn on the cob... it looked like it was a hit!

Coaches, feel free to fill out the survey that was in your packets and email them to us... we'd love to hear your feedback!
